For years, Bridgewater Associates has been making the smartest moves. For instance, they invested in Nvidia back in 2007, long before most investors had even heard of the company. And since then, it is up over 23,000%. They also invested in Meta back in late 2022 before most people had even realized its turnaround potential.
And it is up over 500% since, just to name a couple of examples. In their latest 13F filing, revealing an equity portfolio value of 24.38 billion dollars, they have revealed some of their most recent picks. And in this video, we are breaking down the six stocks they are betting big on right now. But remember, this video is for educational purposes only.
It is not financial advice. Always do your own research and understand the risks before investing. With that being said, let's dive in. First up, Pacific Gas & Electric, ticker PCG. Bridgewater executed one of their most aggressive additions of the quarter here, expanding their position by over 24,000% with the addition of more than 5.9 million shares.
The stock trades near $17.20. PG&E provides electric and natural gas service to over 16 million customers across northern and central California. The bull case comes down to the staggering growth in power demand driven by West Coast artificial intelligence data center builds, alongside earnings recovery as historic wildfire liabilities stabilize and get integrated into long-term regulated rate structures.
The bear case centers on heavy regulatory oversight in California, combined with the massive ongoing capital expenditure required to underground thousands of miles of high-risk power lines, which keeps financial leverage elevated compared to traditional utility peers. Next, AppLovin Corporation, ticker APP.
Ray Dalio's team opened a brand new position in AppLovin during the quarter, buying in as institutional digital advertising spending accelerated. The stock trades near $330. AppLovin operates a high-margin software platform that enables mobile application developers to market, optimize, and monetize their products using proprietary machine learning algorithms.
The bull case is powered by their flagship Axon 2.0 AI engine, which has driven ad revenue growth past 70% year-over-year while generating EBITDA margins exceeding 50% as mobile advertisers pour capital into high-converting targeted ad networks. The bear case revolves around valuation risk. After an extraordinary multi-quarter rally, the stock trades at a premium valuation multiple that leaves virtually zero room for execution hiccups if broader mobile application ad spend experiences any macroeconomic cooling.
Third, Vistra Corporation, ticker VST. Bridgewater increased its position by 115%, adding over 403,000 shares. The stock trades near $129. Vistra is one of the largest competitive power producers and retail energy providers in the United States, operating a flexible generation fleet of nuclear, natural gas, solar, and battery storage assets.
The bull case is directly tied to the exponential rise in base load electricity required by cloud hyperscalers. Vistra is in a prime position to lock in long-term high-margin power purchase agreements directly with technology giants as seeking reliable 24/7 power for massive AI data centers. The bear case stems from exposure to underlying wholesale electricity price fluctuations and potential regulatory scrutiny surrounding long-term nuclear plant license renewals and carbon reduction mandates.
Fourth, Adobe Incorporated, ticker ADBE. Bridgewater made a substantial addition to their position this quarter, expanding their institutional allocation. The stock trades near $415. You know Adobe as the dominant enterprise software titan behind essential creative tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro.
The bull case rests on Adobe's successful commercial monetization of its Firefly generative artificial intelligence suite across enterprise accounts, accelerating annual recurring revenue growth, and proving that established platforms can capture real AI revenue rather than get disrupted. The bear case involves persistent competitive pressure from lower cost generative AI startups offering automated image and video tools, which could threaten Adobe's long-term pricing power and customer retention.
By the way, if you are getting value from this institutional portfolio breakdown, hit like and subscribe. It takes 2 seconds, and it really helps the channel reach more serious investors. Right back to it. Fifth, Eversource Energy, ticker ES. Bridgewater bought into a brand new position here during the quarter.
The stock trades near $72. Eversource operates as a regulated energy delivery company, transmitting electricity and natural gas to over 4 million customers across New England. The bull case is anchored in major regional grid modernization projects required to integrate offshore wind power and electric vehicle infrastructure, providing a stable, regulated earnings trajectory with a reliable dividend yield near 4%.
The bear case highlights the headwind of elevated interest rates, which increases debt servicing costs on the billions in capital expenditure needed to fund these infrastructure upgrades over the next several years. And this is the big plot twist of the quarter. Micron Technology, ticker MU. Bridgewater executed a massive dump here, slashing their position by over 90% and selling more than 1.36 million shares, while also trimming positions in other chip names like Nvidia and Broadcom.
The stock trades near $260. Micron manufactures advanced memory and storage chips that power next-generation artificial intelligence hardware accelerators. The bull case for Micron remains strong on paper with high-bandwidth memory supplies tightly booked through upcoming production cycles due to unrelenting server demand.
But, the bear case, and the exact reason Dalio's firm aggressively took profits, comes down to cyclical peak risk. Semiconductor memory manufacturing is historically one of the most volatile subsectors in technology. Bridgewater rotated capital away from high-beta hardware suppliers and into high-cash-flow utilities and software monetizers to lock in massive gains and protect portfolio capital against potential memory price normalization down the road.
So, that is the six major stock moves Bridgewater Associates recently made in their portfolio. Thank you very much for watching, and I will see you in the next video.
