01. howdy howdy YouTube Austin here Nick here and together we are the Dropout Allstars and uh we're really excited to you because uh the pilot was a great success we had one view thanks Mom and calling it out and um we're really going to set up the format and the structure for these videos and um got the format right here on this piece of paper we'll start with a little intro chitchat and then we'll move forward into a another section that we have planned out that we're really excited to share with you so starting with the intro just to remind you all in case you all didn't watch our pilot episode um which you probably haven't at this point yeah at this episode two no promotion probably a safe bet but um we're two uh young men 21y old from Maryland and um we said [ __ ] college and we decided that we were not only going to talk about it but we were going to be about it and so we uh doubl down in our self-education started a business what else you got to add to that um basically just killing the game grinding harder than than most I would say you know and and really not doing much more than accessing all the knowledge that's out there right I mean right um we're really just trying to apply our strengths stick to our strengths try to find mentors along the way which is getting easier as the internet expands right we've uh invested in a bunch of courses business uh internet marketing type courses trying to uh you know update our brand and get it going yeah be worth it you know we're going to we're going to take you on this journey of being Dropout Allstars which to us means nothing less than being multi-millionaire dropouts that not only create a solid business but on the other side of things can um teach people how and we don't want to teach people because we're not there yet but we just want to share that we want to share the journey and maybe College isn't the only way maybe that's a lesson that we can learn along the way definitely um so Nick why don't you take him through the day today uh starting with that early morning workout I think it'll be very interesting for people to hear that routine that you created okay so um following a little kettle bell workout routine right now and um today's workout was the Turkish Get Up and that's basically where you have the kettle bell in one arm and you just have to stand up with it over your head and we do that for five minutes straight and you just pass it back and forth between your hands um so it's a super short workout very effective um I would tend to agree and and so this guy's been killing the kettle bells I'm more recently uh getting involved and I have found that the efficiency makes me excited to go to the gym so anyone that wants to get in shape but really doesn't like the gym or really doesn't like those long tough workouts I would definitely suggest looking into kettle bells or reaching out to this guy gu and uh talking to him a little more about kettle bells because um it might be the most efficient way that I've worked out yet as far as a full body get up as far as really trying to um it hits the cardiovascular system muscular strength muscular endurance it's really good stuff and then so we we hit the gym then we do some core work and um this is where my favorite part is then we head down to the locker room and we do the sauna and then right after the sauna cold shower we hit the cold shower ice shower I like to call themer when we freaking get out of the sauna and go to a cold shower it's even more cold right it's a shock to the body definitely but toughens you up right two white boys from uh upper middle class families haven't had to go through much toughening up right so any little things that we can do any little advantages we can get we got to go for them so cold showers I hate them but I do them because I hate them right so definitely that's where we are with that no doubt um so then from there so after our cold shower we hit a nice around like 45 minutes reading little reading session we we find that um you know all our mentors and entrepreneurs we look up to are Avid readers and they say you know obviously the more more you learn the more you earn so huge huge we're getting after it on that front and I want to add on that reading front is uh we were not natural readers right so we're both football guys we uh won two state titles in Maryland uh in high school and we played that stereotypical don't do anything in high school football jock role definitely um which is cool right when you're in the bubble of high school um then you get out in the real world and you try to earn money and people don't actually care at all um so that was kind of well I mean I think that football definitely teaches you a lot of lessons fair fair but as far as you know working hard you know I think that I learned a lot more from football than I did from school okay when you compare them in that direction I would tend to agree but then I'd also say what if we spent all that time learning programming right I mean I mean it's there's just multiple sides to it I guess if you're passionate about something you go after it no no and there's no regrets with football because it was a Time Of Our Lives but now there's just a transition period and that requires new knowledge hence the reading definitely so um moving forward um later in our day dog's getting out of here um we hey we um so yeah so going along with the reading we have our quotes the day so that's going to be a theme throughout the shows the shows are going to get tighter as we move forward and get better at them but um quote of the day Nick you want to start us off um yeah let me take a look real quick okay so my quote of the day but was by the billion investor Warren Buffett and he said the best education you can get is investing in yourself and that is better than any college or university so I mean that hit home for me I think after I uh moved out of my parents house then um that was a good feeling that a billion billionaire was saying invest yourself and that's the best and that doesn't mean getting an educ means investing yourself not necessarily through the college system and I think that's just so validating for what we're all about and what we're really trying to uh embody so it was really really cool when Nick shared that quote with me and then my quote was from uh the CEO of zapo 20 she and this is his book here delivering happiness right and in this book he talks about starting a company and quitting his job after college as a programmer for Oracle and he decided that him and his buddy were going to start a company when the when the was really getting started and they uh were building websites for local companies and he said we started a company not because we wanted to make a lot of money but because we didn't want to be bored and uh I'm paraphrasing a little bit but the the moral of that was that he uh had a passion to do something it wasn't about money it was about the the action and doing something so that stood out to me as a quot of the day because I feel the same way I mean I feel like the money will rake in and make no you know uh buts about it that guy's a billionaire so you know so let's say you're in his shoes right right let's say you're working for Oracle and you're killing it right out of college you're Harvard grad and you got a great job oracle's a multi-million dollar compan I have to say say billions probably billions let's assume billions right you're working you're killing it right out of Harbor you're stud coming out um but you're just not you're not passionate about the work and you don't feel that fulfillment right he talks about how getting out of college he thought he wanted easy money and then he had an easy job he only had to go there like you know he could leave throughout the day because he was running these three-hour tests that he could he just had to wait to get the results back that was his job so he would leave and he would do whatever he would want and so he would leave and run his business but ultimately um he realized that the easy money wasn't the most fulfilling money it was his money and it was that sense of being and and I hesitate to say being a man because I think you know women are probably going to be better CEOs in a lot of cases than men but I think that he wanted to take control of his life and he wanted ownership and I think that's um something everyone can identify with um yeah so both of the day and that kind of pushed us through our day right so we did some really exciting stuff and we'll share more about our personal business we have a uh yoga brand that we're you know building and we're really excited about but uh don't want to talk about it too much until it's something physical and tangible and something that we can share not as a theory but as something real we want to put in the consistent uh consistency and and bring that to you guys as it starts you know really really coming along so um we're going to you know close out right around 10 minutes hopefully with the question of the day and today's question is what would you like to know about making the jump and I and I think Nick will be the best one to answer this question because Nick really made a jump recently he told his parents he didn't want to go back to school um and was willing to face the music right and let me ask let me start the question to you I guess I mean I'd love to see that your uh you know answers in the comment section below um but you know Nick is there any uh you know valuable nuggets that you can share to someone that is kind of on the fence about telling their parents that they don't know if college is the right path for them but the parents are you know firm on it right I mean that was my situation um my parents were very Avid about me staying in school and finishing college and honestly they supported me like they just wanted me to finish and then they said you can go start your business but I felt something deep inside just saying all right you got to just do what you want to do you can't just be baby your whole life and you know take these orders I guess you know so I took the jump I told him I'm not going to school um it was honestly it took some some balls to be honest like took a little bit of time you know we've been working up to this point yeah and um you know I was just really listening to what my soul was saying and it said just do this this is the time to do it um your parents not going to be happy but if I can make a success out of myself I know they'll forgive me and that and that really resonates with me is that follow your soul and um so anyone out there uh you know I'd love to hear your question um but I think you know my major takeaway from Nick and I think a lot of people can agree is you know when you know you know and don't question that intuition and that gut feeling so you know we appreciate you watching yeah thank you YouTube these the Dropout Allstars we're uh first team Allstars so moving up the ranks
