She gets up before the market opens. She buys while everyone else panics. And when the closing bell rings on Wall Street , ARK Invest's Katie Wood publishes an exact list of what was bought for the day. No secrets, no 13-day SEC delay like hedge funds, no hiding behind quarterly reports . Each individual deal is open to anyone who wishes to view.
And this week, while retail investors dumped stocks on red candles and headlines screamed about a sell-off in the tech sector, ARK was doing the opposite, pouring tens of millions of dollars into a very specific set of companies. Not random names, not lottery tickets. Businesses at the heart of the three biggest technological shifts of our generation: artificial intelligence infrastructure, digital finance, and the new commercial space race.
If you want to know exactly where the world's smartest and most controversial growth investor is putting his money right now, in the second half of 2026, with real numbers, earnings data, and context that most channels won't provide , then sit back. This will be a deep dive. Because by the end of this video, you'll understand not only what she bought, but why—all the way down to the balance sheet.
Stock number one, Nvidia, NVDA, the engine of the AI economy. Let's start with the name you probably expected, because even Katie Wood can't ignore the company sitting on the throne of the entire AI revolution. On August 10, ARK purchased approximately $26.6 million worth of Nvidia stock, about 122,000 shares spread across five different ARK ETFs, including ARK, ARKK, ARKW, ARKF, and even the space and defense technology fund ARKX.
Then, just a week later, on August 17, ARK came back and added another $22.8 million, buying up the dip when the stock closed at around $225. This is a pattern you will notice throughout the video. ARK is not chasing green candles. He buys red ones. So why are beliefs so deep? Let's look at the real numbers, because they are staggering.
In its most recently completed fiscal year, Nvidia generated $215.9 billion in total revenue, up 65% from the previous year. Break it down into segments and the story becomes even more interesting. The computing and networking technology segment alone brought in $193.5 billion , a 67% increase. While the operating profit of the entire company was $139.3 billion, which is 58% more.
Gross profit margins are in the range of just over 70%, which is almost unheard of for a company that supplies physical equipment on such a scale. In the last reporting quarter, revenue reached $46.7 billion, up 56% from a year earlier, with data center revenue of $41.1 billion. But here's a number that should stop you.
Management is forecasting revenue for the next quarter of $54 billion, which would represent nearly 16% sequential growth on top of an already huge base. Now, Nvidia's next earnings report is due on August 26th, just a few days away. And Wall Street is preparing for something historic. Analysts are forecasting quarterly revenue in the range of $93 billion to $95 billion, which would be another jump of about 67% year over year .
Jensen Huang has been outspoken about the scale of what lies ahead, telling investors on recent calls that he expects three to four trillion dollars in global spending on AI infrastructure by the end of the decade, and virtually all of that spending is flowing through Nvidia's Blackwell architecture , and now Blackwell Ultra, in one form or another.
Of course, there are real risks here. Stocks trading at an overvalued level, increasing competition from specialized AI chips developed in-house by Amazon, Google, and Meta, and a geopolitical chessboard that could shift again overnight. But when the world's most disciplined thematic investor continues to add stakes in the dominant AI company to his portfolio during every pullback, it's a signal worth taking seriously .
Block Inc. shares, the fintech transformation no one is talking about . Now let's move on to fintech, because the next name may genuinely surprise you if you haven't been following it closely. Block, the company behind Square, Cash App, and Afterpay, led by Jack Dorsey, has quietly become one of Ark's most aggressive buys all month.
Look at this pattern. On August 6, Ark purchased 267,000 shares worth more than $22 million after the stock fell more than 6% following the earnings announcement, closing at around $79. Then, on August 17, Ark came back and bought $15 million more shares, nearly 192,000 units, as the price fell again.
Two separate buying events, two separate falls, the same confidence each time. This Ark views short-term price weakness as a gift, not a warning sign. And when you actually dig into Block's Q2 2026 results , it becomes much clearer why. Gross profit was $3.17 billion, up 25% year-over-year , the highest growth rate the company has shown in recent years.
Let's take a closer look, and both engines are working at full capacity. Cash App generated $1.97 billion in gross profit, up 31% thanks to a 59% surge in lending volumes. Square, the merchant side of the business , saw $1.16 billion in gross profit, up 13%, as total payment volume grew to $72.85 billion.
Adjusted operating income reached a record $864 million, representing a 27% margin, an all-time high for the company. And as for the final figures, adjusted diluted earnings per share were $1.02 , which significantly exceeded analysts' forecasts of 86 cents - an increase of 65% year over year. In addition to financial indicators, we are observing real dynamics in product development.
Cash App recently introduced a new feature called Cash App tags, which reportedly sold out in minutes and almost instantly garnered over 3 million waitlist signups. Stock number three, Rocket Lab, RKLY, is Arc's purest bet on the space economy. And now the name that inspires investors the most, because it is a pure, genuine market transformation.
Rocket Lab. In mid- August, Arc purchased more than $12.7 million worth of Rocket Lab stock , representing 160,000 shares for its flagship innovation fund. And within a few days, Arc bought them back as part of a broader $41 million purchase that included Broadcom, Cerebras Systems, and Rocket Lab during the market correction.
In particular, while simultaneously increasing its presence in the semiconductor, artificial intelligence, and space technology sectors. So what actually drives this level of confidence? Rocket Lab just posted record second-quarter 2026 revenue of $234.1 million, an impressive 62% increase from last year.
And that's $34 million more than the previous quarter's record. Looking at it by segment, Space Systems revenue was $189.5 million , up 39% from the previous quarter, driven by satellite manufacturing and the recently completed acquisition of Miner. Gross profit rose to $84.6 million , well above $46.4 million a year earlier, while non-GAAP gross margin expanded to 41.5%, well above the company's own guidance.
But the metric that really tells the story is the order book, as it is effectively guaranteed future revenue, and Rocket Lab's backlog has grown to a record $2.36 billion. This is a staggering 137% year-on-year growth. This growth was driven by more than $1 billion in contracts signed during and immediately following the quarter, including a $266 million U.S.
Space Force suborbital launch contract and a $397 million grant for the Missile Defense Satellite Program. This is a company whose relationship with the US government deepens quarter by quarter. And then there's the major news that really shook Wall Street. Rocket Lab has announced its intention to acquire Iridium Communications , a satellite communications giant, backed by a commitment to raise $3.6 billion in bridge financing.
Management is forecasting next quarter revenue in the range of $250 million to $265 million, which would be another record for the company.
