lift stock has been on a steep decline since the IPO nearly two and half weeks ago trading 22 percent below the offering price comes as we are awaiting a flood of new IPOs including Pinterest and zoom expected this week Jim if you look at the intraday high on that first day we're down 36 percent was going to open in 100 they got it down to 86 7 I think that was a win obviously the bankers seem to run out of firepower pretty quickly look I think yours what's really happen with lifts cuz I know that Morgan Stanley's denied JP Morgan yeah there's different searches but the make up here's what I've been able to tell him and how I was wrong and on that it is really remarkable that these season these unicorns have been around long enough that the last round of investors we're not feces they were hedge funds that is true and a lot of that funds I think it figured out ways to be able to well actually I can add to that because I've also been working on it they these they were special-purpose vehicles that's created for the purpose of it late-stage investing here and oftentimes they will be prevented in the contractual language associated with it from shorting the stock right that was not the case here there it is they made mistake in allowing some of these and I believe for example the Soros investment and it's not George Soros but it's a surprise and others the Kane late-stage special purpose vehicle were not barred from short in stock and so they were in there doing it covering themselves they stayed private for so long in other words that a different generation of early quote unquote early-stage came in and changed the dynamics of the IPO look I think that when you add that lowering sophisticated people who are able to do look I keep I ponder every minute how this could be so bad and the answer is the basis must be really low their hedge funds they figured out a way around they weren't done it wasn't done by Morgan Stanley they didn't orchestrate this but look those of us who I mean I thought this thing would stop at 70 and I kept trying to figure out okay what happened I've done the huge amount of digging which is what you did and we came up with the fact that they can blast out which is not supposed to happen no and a lot of them did flip when they said they wouldn't which is always typical right you know we've got a really tight book and then of course so many the hedge fund guys just so I mean look I was wrong because I did I've never seen it before I mean I was locked up when I did the street I was locked up from that run from 66 down to two and then around to I was free to trade that was suboptimal it was completely so so wait is this is this a bad precedent for the ones still to come boy these want to impress it because now everyone's gonna be scared and it's really great because we need people a little scared I mean Pinterest I was pondering last night could Amazon go after Pinterest I mean amazon woke up and put out a release by waiting to do it they just said some of us would go again Spotify it was yet a Spotify I know but you slice that a number below its last run go ahead Mike his lift was priced well above Jimmy I above the last look the way you have to do it is you gotta look at the ones that nobody's looking at Julia which is just incredible how about TW followed that one phone train web oh yeah I mean that's what you want you want the ones no one's heard up right people should look for even leave us to some degree right vice t you had a nice move yesterday I mean lift again I would repeat is 100% my fault cuz I learned that on Twitter maybe 110 percent but it it is really the people have to understand if there are not a sizeable cohort of investors who came in at the end because these things have been just hanging around forever they figured out how to get around and until I see that they're that they're totally locked in and they will do not pass go go right to jail then they're gonna blast at all these because the basic movement see what sitting they probably want to cut their losses last that's very interesting no one's thought about us I think it's not supposed to happen I mean I'm just talking to people and all the firms and not one of them thought this would happen no they didn't they were confident that a strong they were like beers like hey guys you know this can't happen it can't happen see cuz like you were tied up from 60 students 66 to two - I was free Detroit straight out below my basis I remember those things you do like to do I forget entirely I don't remember any of that with my father my sister Hill just went down I don't remember that's I forgot his life and that big I feel good about you
