If you have ₹1 lakh, ₹5 lakh or ₹1 lakh to invest then listen to an uncomfortable truth. Your biggest problem is not your small capital. In fact, that is your biggest advantage. You think that is a problem but in reality it is a big advantage. If Warren Buffett had been given a small capital today. He himself has said that if I had to invest $1 million today, I would not invest it like Bursh Hather.
Because that would have been a very slow process. Imagine if Warren Buffett got a reset button where he no longer had to invest billions of dollars. They don't have decades of accumulated wealth. Now how would he think? Would he have bought 202 stocks, kept them in his portfolio and forgotten about them, or would he have invested in index joint funds, which are index investments?
No, he would look for stocks that could grow too large for the level of the bshar healthfare. But it can be life changing for your small portfolio. If you understood this difference in this video today, I will explain to you further how we have a huge advantage to grow in the long term even if we have little capital right now.
Hi my name is Haneet Singh Aranda and I am the author of two times Amazon best selling books. And in this video we will understand how if you have 5 lakhs or 500 crores. The problems you both have are different. If you blindly copy Warren Buffett's style, you will never be able to grow because I know many retail investors make this mistake.
They just blindly copy their strategy. In fact, those who are buying stocks, they sit with those stocks. If Warren Buffett is taking it, we should also take it. If Warren Buffett were to start with Rs 5 lakh today, would he copy his own portfolio? I don't do it at all. You can understand that if suppose Warren Buffett gets a very good company worth Rs 500 crore tomorrow.
They want to invest in it. They will not be able to invest in it. We as a retail investor can invest Rs 500 in it. You can deposit Rs 1 lakh. But they cannot invest in it. Because such a small company would be irrelevant to their portfolio. If we invest even Rs 500 in that company and can take it 5x, then how much will our entire portfolio move.
How much returns will a single stock give you? How rapidly a single stock can change the meaning of your entire investment portfolio. And now you will think, look what is happening with your small capital? How big is your investment universe getting? Such a large investment universe is not that of large portfolios as it is of small portfolios.
You have more options. You can also invest in very small companies which big investment managers or big fund managers may never be able to do. So stop thinking that I have only 2 lakhs. What can I do? And start thinking that what can I do with the little capital I have that an investor with Rs 5000 crore or Rs 10,000 crore cannot do.
The first part is small money can move fast. Just imagine, it is a joint ship, a cruise ship , how much time does it take to move it, to turn it ? And if there is a small speed boat, how fast does it move. You can understand investment through this analogy. If you have Rs 1 lakh, you can invest Rs 20,000, Rs 3,000 in a good stock.
You can easily invest 20, 30% of your portfolio and if you manage it well then it will have a very good impact on your portfolio. But he wo n't be able to do that in a larger portfolio. You don't need to pick 100s of stocks. You don't need to diversify your portfolio too much. You don't need to invest in too many sectors in your portfolio.
All you need to do is find good stocks. And by investing less capital to find good stocks, I do n't mean that you should invest in penny stocks. You invest in high risk cost. That is not there. We have not tried recluse compounding. We have to invest in a sensible way only. Your objective should be high quality opportunities, sensible business, long runway and patience.
And in fact, I would like to add one thing to it that you should also add technicalities in it. If you want to find good stocks, then use daily charts, weekly charts, monthly charts in technicals and time your entry to a good trade. Second is don't copy Buffett's portfolio, copy his thinking. Now enough, what mistakes do retail investors make?
He says that friend Warrenun Buffet turns on Coca-Cola. Let's turn on Apple. I also buy Apple. I also turn on the same companies. But here you have to think that there is a huge difference. But you are copying the answer without understanding the question. Why would Vern Buffett invest in Apple or Coca-Cola ?
He wanted to understand at that time whether I am getting good value for the price I am paying or not. Look, you also have to do the same. If someone is telling you too much about a company, then who cares, in one of your companies, everyone is making a company famous on Twitter by showing its charts.
It doesn't matter to us. On YouTube, someone is repeatedly calling the same company, the same stock a multibagger. It doesn't matter to us. We have to actually see how that business works. How is its management? And realistically how much she can grow. Because you have to buy that good value company at a good price.
And I will again advise you to add technicalities in this. Because a great business can be a very bad investment if you bite at a wrong price. Next is your biggest enemy is not the market. It's patience. What actually happens? You invested ₹1 lakh. Now after 2 months it became ₹17,000. So this is actually a very good return.
But what do you do now? If you open Instagram at that time, you will see that someone has bought watches, cars, someone has shifted to Dubai. I don't know how much I started earning. Someone bought the entire house in a month. And after that, your profit of Rs 7000 starts to seem less to you. Then you start jumping.
You move from one stock to another and then leaving the stocks you come into options. Then leaving that aside, you start jumping into gold, crypto, funded accounts and who knows where. Because you are not managing your own portfolio with patience. Now you are getting into FOMO after seeing the dreams that others are selling to you.
And what happens in it ? Your only broken is rich. You will never be rich. You didn't set out to beat the market. But your own nature beat you. Warren Buffett's advantage here is that he finds one of his investments and then he can actually bet on it. They don't have to look for new stock every Monday and every Wednesday.
Don't make them jump again and again. You also have to do the same. Once you have found a good investment, sit with it patiently. I say that even if you do swing trading or positional trading, you do not have to search for stocks again and again every day. Don't search for two stocks in one day. I say you have seen good stocks once.
You are sitting on good stocks. At that time, stop your scanning for some time. Because when you scan something you will see some good moving stock. At that time, if your stock by chance is not moving for a few days. You will get the form. You will sell your stock and buy another one. After that if the other person stops there and you start walking.
The stock which you had earlier in your portfolio, then you will regret that it would have been better if I had sat on my own stock. So unless a stock itself is giving you a reason to exit, do not exit it. Sit in it comfortably and patiently. Eventually, the game of investment is a game of patience.
It is the game of the one who can sit comfortably without getting distracted and without getting more. And if you still do n't know where to find stocks? Where to take the stock? If the stock turns bullish after that, how can it be ridden with patience? Exactly where to sell? When does he have to make partial booking ?
How to make entries in it? How to maintain position sizing in it? How to manage risk and where to place your stop loss ? How to maintain a journal? Where to find the basics for long term for free ? From where you can do long term investment very well on the basis of technicals with the addition of fundamentals.
You can trade peacefully. You can trade along with your job. So you can check my video series below. In that I have explained everything in very easy videos. He shares all his charts and the reasoning behind them. Never shares buy and sell tips. If you want to join that channel then I have given its link below.
The second link will be his. You can join from there. Next is Don't Wait for the Perfect Crash. It is quite common that people get caught up in this, or they get caught up in forecasting and predictions, saying, come on, let the market crash a little. It doesn't seem too high right now. Let it come down a little more or let the Fed's decision come or let the elections come, let them get over.
Then we will invest. You did not forecast. After 5 years, you will remain in the same position. And whoever wants to invest will invest and will also get returns by then. You said we are not in the forecasting business. No one has made money by forecasting here. You just have to see that the price I am offering at this time will give me value in the future and I am getting a better price than the value of this business at this time.
So on that if it's yes then invest. If it's not then wait. But we should not get stuck in this prediction track that friend, I will stop now. I will stop once this decision comes. I will stop when this election comes. We should not get entangled in all this. We timed it by pinpointing each point and decided that we will buy at this point or else we will not buy.
Do n't get caught in such timing. Now the real secret is that you have to think in decades not does. If you want to increase your portfolio of Rs 1 lakh to Rs 2 lakh, then the most natural question that comes to mind is which stock should I find that can double it. But this is wrong thinking. You have to see which stock has a reasonable risk but can give me good compounding returns for many years.
Because the magic of compounding is not visible in the initial few years. Because if you invest Rs 1 lakh at 15%, it will become Rs 2 lakh in 5 years. It will be 4 lakhs in 10 years. In 20 years it will be around ₹16 lakh. But in 30 years it will become 66 lakhs. Same money, same investor, no lottery, just time, discipline and patience.
And this is the problem that people neither underestimate nor underestimate compounding. Because in the first decade it can seem disappointing. In the Second Decade she impresses you. But in the third decade she changes your life. So what is the big take away? If you have Rs 500, Rs 1 lakh, Rs 2 lakh, Rs 5 lakh, then don't feel bad that you have a very small portfolio.
In fact, be grateful because you have something which Warren Buffett wishes he had and that is flexibility. Because you do n't need billion dollar opportunities. You do n't have to have 50 stocks on. You do n't have to predict the market. You generally have to find some such stocks which are available to you at a very good price as per the value.
And then you have to give it enough time. You don't need more activity to grow this small portfolio. You need better decisions and patience. So in the end I would like to say this, don't think about what Warren Buffett is buying. Imagine what Warren Buffett would do if he had your amount of money. I hope you liked this video.
