Ray Dalio, the most successful hedgefund manager who ever lived, went on Bloomberg this week and said out loud what almost nobody on Wall Street wants to admit. The artificial intelligence bubble is about to burst and the trigger is already on the calendar. SpaceX lists in a single week at 1.7 trillion US dollars, Anthropic just filed for a trillion dollar offering of its own and that means roughly 200 billion dollars of Wall Street money has to come from somewhere.
The question nobody is asking is the only one that matters. What do they sell to buy it? I am Andrew Meetrich and that is just the first crack. Today, central banks quietly did something they have not done in 30 years and it dethrones the safest asset on the planet. A record-breaking pile of American household debt just hit a 15-year danger zone.
A former intelligence officer was arrested with 40 million dollars in government gold bars sitting in his home. And a man who once ran money at BlackRock is now calling for a number on gold that sounds insane until you hear his reasoning. Stay with me till the end because that last story changes how you should think about everything else you own.
But first, let me ask you for something small. If this channel has ever helped you see a risk before your neighbor did, hit like and subscribe right now. Here is the part of the Dalio story that should make you sit up. Broadcom, one of the largest artificial intelligence companies on earth, crashed 12% in a single overnight session and it did that on good earnings.
Read that again. The numbers were strong and the stock still fell off a cliff. That is not a reaction to bad news. That is a market running out of buyers at the top. A market so stretched that even success cannot hold it up. Dalio sees the same thing the smart money sees. When a handful of trillion dollar listings have to be funded all at once, somebody has to liquidate something real to make room.
And the something real is the rest of your portfolio. Then, almost on cue, the inflation data came in hotter than anyone expected. So, now you have a bubble at the top and rising prices at the bottom, squeezing from both directions. Broadcom, in this reading, was not an accident. It was the first domino.
And the people who move billions are already deciding which way to lean before the rest of us even notice the floor is tilting. Which brings me to the move the central banks made while everyone was staring at tech stocks. According to a fresh report from the European Central Bank at the end of last year, gold quietly became the largest reserve asset in the world, passing both the euro and, for the first time in three decades, United States Treasury bonds.
Gold now sits at around 27% of global official reserves. Treasuries, the asset the entire modern financial system is built on, the thing we were all told is the safest investment on Earth, dropped to 22%. Think about who is doing this. The very institutions that create currency and manage the world's reserves are walking away from American debt and into a metal they cannot print.
Central banks now hold more than 36,000 metric tons of gold, a level last seen back when currencies were still tied to it. Since the freezing of Russian reserves in 2022, the buying has been relentless, more than 1,000 tons a year for 3 years straight. And here is the uncomfortable question hanging over all of it.
If the people who run the system are choosing gold over the dollar, what exactly do they know that you and I do not? Let me pause here just for a moment because I want to talk to you directly, one person to one person. If you are watching this, drop a comment and tell me which city you are in and which of these stories worried you the most.
I know that sounds small, but the algorithm only pushes this video to more people if the first wave of viewers reacts in the first hour. So, a comment is not a favor to me, it is how this reaches someone who needs the warning. And if you know one person who still trusts that government bonds are perfectly safe, send this to them.
The next two stories hit even harder than this one, so do not drift off yet. Now to the story that lands right on the kitchen table. The Federal Reserve Bank of New York just reported that Americans are carrying a record 1.25 trillion dollars in credit card debt, the highest level ever recorded. And the part that really matters, credit card delinquencies have climbed to a 15-year high.
13% of all card accounts are now at least 90 days overdue, the worst since the wreckage of 2008. The average card holder owes around $6,500, and the share of people carrying more than $10,000 has climbed across every single income bracket, rich neighborhoods included. Interest rates have surged to roughly 21% up from 14 or 15 just a couple of years ago.
At that cost, the debt stops being a tool and starts being a trap, where most of every payment vanishes into interest and the balance barely moves. The National Foundation for Credit Counseling says it served 24% more clients this January than a year earlier. Even more telling, nearly a third of buy now, pay later users are financing groceries, and among the youngest adults, it is almost four in 10.
More than half of those borrowers admit they could not make ends meet without it. When families start putting food on installment plans, that is not convenience. That is a quiet signal that the paycheck no longer reaches the end of the month. And remember, debt is a lagging indicator. People burn through savings first, then borrow, and only default once the pressure has already been crushing them for a long time.
And here is where it gets strange, almost surreal. Pull up the United States Treasury balance sheet and find the line for gold. The official price listed there is $42.22 per ounce, not 4,000. Not 400. $42, a frozen accounting fiction from decades ago sitting against a real market price thousands of dollars higher.
Now layer on this, a former intelligence officer was just arrested after investigators found more than 300 government gold bars in his home worth over 40 million dollars apparently requested over the years for and I quote work expenses. Nobody seems able to explain what those expenses were. And days later, the president posted a call to finally audit Fort Knox.
Here is the part most people miss. If the Treasury ever revalues its gold from $42 to the real market price, it conjures trillions of fresh dollars onto its books out of thin air. That is not a conspiracy. That is arithmetic quietly waiting in a footnote. Which leads to the story I told you to wait for.
Ed Dowd, who once managed money at BlackRock, is now warning that 2026 brings a convergence of three crises at once. A correction in American housing, the bursting of that same artificial intelligence bubble, and a deepening slowdown in China dragging global growth down with it. He calls the official American growth figures a hallucination propped up by government spending.
And his call on gold, $10,000 an ounce long term driven by central bank buying and the crushing weight of the debt. Meanwhile, he points to Bitcoin sitting in margin call territory with Michael Saylor, the loudest believer of them all, now quietly selling. Put the whole picture together. Central banks fleeing into gold, households drowning in debt, a market top funded by forced selling, and a former insider calling for a number that would have been unthinkable a few years ago.
None of these stories is separate. They are the same story told from four different windows. Before you go, like this video and subscribe to the channel because likes and comments are the only reason the algorithm carries this to the next person who needs to hear it, and that matters more than you think.
If you found real value here, consider supporting the channel through a sponsorship or a super thanks. I want to be honest with you about why. Independent work like this means hours of reading official documents, cross-checking numbers across sources, and refusing to take a single dollar from anyone who would want the story softened.
Your support is what keeps this channel free of those strings, free of any hedge fund, party, or media empire whispering in the background. Tell me in the comments which of these stories hit you hardest, and where in the world you are watching from. I read them in the first days, and reply to as many as I can. Thank you for being part of this. Sincerely, see you in the next one.
