My mission is simple. To make you money. I am here to create a level homework, and I promise to help you find it. The crazy money starts now. Hey, I'm Kramer. Welcome to Crazy o teach you, to put days like today in context. Call me at 1800743 CBC or tweet me at Jim Kramer. I'm so tired of hearing that it's time to move to small caps, or invest in oil companies, or buy stocks of cyclical companies.
On the day the market crashed, the Dow fell 272 points, the S&P lost 46 %. The NASDAQ fell just 0.06%. Come on, come on, come on. Let's remember what really got us to these record levels, because these stocks are still the best in the market. You know what I'm talking about. Speaking of a term I coined.
I'm talking about "fang". Yes. Facebook, Amazon, Apple, Netflix and Google. These stocks, unfortunately, have gone out of fashion on Wall Street. The smart money keeps telling you to move away from these big tech stocks in favor of small-cap companies , the Russell 2000, anything that needs a booming economy to thrive.
They want you to forget about the “fang” and place big bets on whatever he does better with the vaccine or, of course, the vaccines themselves. I'm not saying that quickly. There are some stocks that become much less attractive when the world returns to normal. Oh, but not "fang". These companies are living , breathing organisms .
They are so powerful that they are no longer tied to the prevailing economic winds . Instead, they control their own destiny. They don't care who's in the White House or how soon we get vaccinated. Let's look at them one by one. Order of abbreviations. We all know that Facebook effectively owns the social media advertising business, but for years the company has had a reputation for a voracious pursuit of profit at any cost.
This put them on target. While CEO Mark Zuckerberg may fight the government, it would be better if he didn't have to . So last year, management changed the narrative. They began implementing a series of brilliant initiatives designed to help people who were using Facebook or Instagram to grow their businesses but needed help from the company.
They are just starting to develop. These small and medium-sized businesses, these businesses are the backbone of the U.S. economy. And at a time when many of them are being destroyed by the pandemic , Facebook has thrown them a lifeline. I was recently on a show on CNBC with Gary Vaynerchuk. He is the world's leading social media expert, and he spoke in depth about how Facebook and Instagram advertising is incredibly beneficial for small businesses.
I interviewed CEOs of consumer goods and apparel companies. They tell me the same thing. Facebook still gives you the best return on investment. More importantly, by making his platform essential to small and medium-sized businesses, Zuckerberg has the perfect defense if regulators try to curb him. Anything that destroys small business is radioactive in American politics.
In addition, Facebook plans to launch its own digital currency. I don't know. This is Bitcoin itself. Who knows? They could easily move into the hot payment space and likely dominate. And, God, would n't that be right? What's not to like here? Next Apple. Apple managed to grow today thanks to not one, but two positive studies.
Loop upgraded the stock from hold to buy, touting the strength of the new iPhone, and the already bullish Morgan Stanley called Apple a great play in 5G. It should be added that the revenue stream from services continues to grow, grow, and grow. I think this story is still in the works because Apple has the most satisfied customer base on Earth.
This is what Tim Cook does. However, many very smart finance managers simply don't understand or own these. There is currently a feeling that Apple stock is overvalued . They are selling for about 30 times more than next year's earnings. Absolutely wrong. First , I bet that these estimates will turn out to be too low, especially considering the rapid fall of the dollar.
What you've never heard of. When the dollar rose, it crushed Apple. I mean, I've been listening to the course and, oh my God, they're leaving billions on the table. No more. Apple's huge overseas profits translate into even more dollars. Second, you need to stop judging Apple as a purely technology company because it has some influence in consumer goods, but more stable because of all that recurring revenue.
Third, they don't get enough credit for wearable electronics. The Apple Watch is crushing its competitors. They own all this space. Finally this morning, out of nowhere, our government imposed sanctions on a giant Chinese oil company, a Chinese semiconductor company. I expect the next president to be softer on China.
But even if Biden decides to be as tough on China as Trump, his administration will never be as arbitrary and capricious. This means there will no longer be endless concerns about a possible boycott of Apple products by China. A significant multiple price- to-earnings ratio amplifier. What about Amazon?
Okay, I know this is long out of date, but the number of COVID cases is skyrocketing right now . And every time a pandemic gets out of control, what do people do? Yes, they turn to Amazon for shopping. Every expert tells us it will get worse and worse. Sad for our country, but great for Amazon. Hey, I bought some dental floss on Amazon this weekend.
I do n't want to go to the pharmacy. I bought some dental floss. Why not? How about some Sensidin too? Well, whatever. Get yourself one of those automatic things. I buy about five boxes of Sensin every week. It's very fast. I got "How do I stop this with Senshin?". OK. I think this is the kind of company that can reinvent itself once a month.
Amazon recently announced that it is entering the pharmaceutical market in a big way , and pharmacy stocks have already been destroyed. That's why they call it the " Death Star." Oh, and don't forget it's Cyber Monday. Do you really think Wall Street tomorrow will ignore the incredible sales Amazon is running this week?
How many firms will raise their price targets tomorrow? And now there's Netflix, which a lot of people have been writing off lately. Oh, I think that's a mistake. Netflix is just making a series about chess. Perhaps the most intellectual, mysterious, and perhaps even boring game in the world. You think it's going to be terrible, but these guys know exactly what people want to watch.
Of course, "Queen's Gambit" was viewed by 62 million accounts. This is incredible. Just when you were ready to count them out, the pandemic has frozen new productions and there's nothing on the schedule that seems even remotely interesting. They released their biggest hit. If you haven't seen it yet, what are you doing with your life?
Even my sister, who doesn't know the difference between chess and checkers , was delighted. Finally, there is Alphabet, the artist formerly known as Google. Among other things, Alphabet owns YouTube. And I can't believe how common this thing has suddenly become. It has a great economy and it's still growing like a weed.
I like Google's cloud services. Uh, if these guys want to own the NFL, by the way, or the broadcast rights, or the entire league, they can afford it. The reason to stick to this document is because it is a publicity stunt. And once we have a vaccine, all sorts of travel and entertainment companies will start showing ads again.
Travel is usually the largest category. In other words, Alphabet was a great winner in the fight against COVID, but it also won in vaccination. What about all those groups that these very smart strategists want to get you into? I know that oil has risen sharply this month. I say, "So what? Even at $45 a barrel, very few oil companies can meet the valuations here.
You want to own oil stocks in the era of President Biden? Good luck." Cyclical stocks, listen, I love them as much as anyone. And you can bet they'll have more of a boost once a vaccine comes along, but they've already skyrocketed. I like the rest of the technology, especially after what we heard from Lisa Sue from AMD this morning.
Their sales are growing rapidly. Later in the show, we'll hear from Dell Technologies. Business PC on fire. But ultimately, Fang shares are the group that allowed us to hire employees this year, and they are not going anywhere. Not anytime soon. # crazy? Go to madmoney.cnbc.com. This is Shepard Smith.
