When everyone believes the risk is gone, that is when risk becomes most dangerous. A rising market can hide bad decisions for a very long time. The biggest bubbles begin when people stop asking what something is actually worth. Easy money creates confidence long before it creates prosperity. When credit standards disappear, the consequences eventually appear.

The market can remain irrational longer than you expect, but reality always gets the final vote. The greatest danger isn't pessimism. It's unquestioned optimism. When everyone is chasing the same opportunity, the opportunity may already be gone. A great story can make a bad investment look brilliant.

Valuation matters most when everyone thinks it doesn't. Debt doesn't eliminate risk. It hides it until the bill arrives. Financial engineering can move risk around, but it cannot make risk disappear. When incentives reward growth instead of quality, eventually quality becomes the casualty. The market doesn't need everyone to be wrong.

It only needs expectations to be too high. The more certain an investment story sounds, the more carefully you should examine it. Bubbles don't require stupid investors. They require investors who believe someone else will pay more. The crowd can be right about the technology and still be wrong about the price.

A revolutionary technology can become a terrible investment when bought at a revolutionary valuation. AI may change the world, but that doesn't mean every AI stock will make investors rich. The AI story is powerful. That's exactly why investors should question the price attached to it. Technology creates value.

Markets can still overprice that value. The most dangerous words in investing are, "This time is different." When billions are spent to a narrative, ask whether the economics can defend themselves. A company can have incredible technology and still be an incredible short. Growth without sustainable economics eventually becomes a problem.

When capital floods into one industry, competition can destroy the returns investors expected. The market loves a winner until everyone starts paying for the same victory. If an investment requires perfect execution forever, the margin of safety is already gone. The biggest warning sign isn't falling prices.

It's impossible expectations. When investors stop seeing downside, they're usually not measuring risk anymore. The price you pay determines whether a great company becomes a great investment. A market driven by fear can fall quickly. A market driven by certainty can fall even harder. History doesn't repeat perfectly, but human behavior repeats remarkably well.

The names change. The psychology doesn't. Every generation believes its favorite asset is different from the bubbles of the past. The strongest bull markets often create the strongest arguments for why they cannot end. When everyone is looking at the same opportunity, look for what they're ignoring.

The market rewards patience, but punishes blind conviction. Don't confuse a rising stock price with a healthy business. When fundamentals and expectations separate too far, eventually something has to give. The smartest investment may sometimes be the one you refuse to make. You don't need to predict the exact day of a crash to recognize a dangerous setup.

The goal isn't to know everything. It's to notice what everyone else is overlooking. Risk becomes invisible when everyone around you is making money. A bubble becomes dangerous when skepticism itself starts looking irrational. Don't ask only how much money you can make. Ask how much you can lose if you're wrong.

The market can reward a bad thesis for years before reality catches up. The best warning sign is often hidden inside the assumption nobody wants to question. Investing is not about following the crowd. It's about understanding what the crowd may be missing. When the narrative becomes more important than the numbers, caution becomes an advantage.
