so broadcom just hit one trillion in market cap and the share price is taken off like a rocket institutions are piling in buying more but the question is should you buy broadcom well we're about to find out before I dive in if you're new to investing or want to get better at investing you're in the right place we use ticker to know where to start what to buy and what to sell all right let's dive in broadcom was founded in 1991 their headquarters is based in San Jose California they have a global footprint with customers in the US UK Europe Australia India and more we like those global companies and this company went public in 2009 now the question is what does broadcom do well it's pretty technical business they're a B2B play and they're in the tech space so what I typically do is I'll go to Ticker go to details you can read a synopsis here in this case it actually is pretty technical let's go down here and let's click on broadcom go to their website and what I like to do is to make it as easy as possible for myself is I'll either go to a products or Services page or something that's pretty close so we can see here products and solutions so here's a quick summary they've got a lot of it infrastructure products for businesses storage systems wireless wireless connectivity even enterprise software Solutions including cyber security now when I invest in a stock I like to know who are their customers I want some big logos on their resume that gives me more confidence so some of their customers include LinkedIn Excel Energy truest Financial Corporation Ava Johnson and Johnson Apple HP and more so they've been around a while and have some big names on their resume but let's go ahead let's dive into ticker and see what's going on here and see if we really want to buy this stock or maybe wait all right so we're going to walk through the seven the seven key steps to make sure stock is a strong investment and right away I can see the stock starting with his number one point which is a summary stocks are either on sale watch overpriced we're watch so we're over one let's go down to the score the higher the score the safer the investment if you're interested you can go to tier.com go up here to education and then down to calculations you can see the calculations behind our score and behind that margin of safety we try to keep things open source be transparent and if you want you can go ahead take the calculations and go them on your own we just want to make sure you're buying and selling stocks with confidence all right let's keep going here so the score is over 50 that's what we're looking for and we meet that criteria so we are one for two over to the margin of safety we can see here there's not much upside potential with the stock what that tells us is the profits are not increasing and we're going to take a look at that in a moment but we want to see that EPS increasing consistently so so far we're one for three in the middle the 4M score the 4M confidence booster a quickly to find this we use open aai to do a whole lot of research for us so we don't have to so the first m is the math part of investing the second m is the meaning that's the business model how does a business make money how many revenue streams does a business have and how scalable are those revenue streams then you have the moat that's the comparison against the competition or other businesses in the same sector and Industry and then you have the management that's the track record of the CEO doing homework on those 3 m those last 3 m it could take you hours if not days of research we reduce that down to seconds thanks to little Health from open AI so getting an 80 or higher is what we call a buy and then a 59 or lower is a sell we're pretty close 75 tells us that those other 3 m aside from the financials those are pretty strong but I'm not going to give it a point on this one so we are still one for four let's go down to the 5year returns so we know that past performance does not guarantee future results but we do like stocks that consistently beat the market CU we want to invest in stocks that beat the market the markets Over The Last 5 Years or typically the number you want to think about is 5year returns S&P 500 it's about 80% so in this case we can see 673 that's really good we are 245 so far let's keep going jump to that financials tab go to EPS this is the number one most important line institutions pay attention to is you want to see those profits increasing quarter over quarter well we had some issues here kind of fell off then went negative and now it's making progress making the right progress so I see two quarters moving in the right direction but not three so I'm going to keep this at a two for six on that seven so far let's go to the earnings calendar we can see here we want to see three consecutive quarters beating those estimates and we have three so there you go you got three out of seven it's important to pay close attention to those last two points the EPS as well as the earnings calendar the reason is every quarter when you have a report those are the two most important lines that are paid attention to by institutions when you see an increase in EPs and you beat your estimate in most cases the share price goes up and if you miss that's when the share price goes down all right so with this stock we've got a three out of seven would I buy the stock the answer is no i' like to see a five out of seven that gives me enough confidence to move forward institutions are piling in and of course that one trillion market cap is great but there's not enough here for me to get excited what I would do is this and this is what I suggest is go to this stock add it to your watch list and when this stock flips from watch to on sale or that 4M jumps to 80 and I'll show you guys a little trick here go down to alerts and I'm going to send an alert right now we'll go avgo there you go 4M score I can see here is 75 I going to see 80 that's going to get me excited to move forward and consider buying the stock of course only buy or sell stocks based on your own financial goals and this is not Financial advice all right those are my thoughts on broadcom what stock do you want me to review next go ahead and comment down below if you like this video hit that like button if you want to
