01. Hey guys, what's up, welcome to the video. Today we're going to cover how to day trade like a pro. You can pretty much day trade any stock, but it works for certain stocks, not everything. So I'll go over some, and I'll also recommend a few. Let's get into it.

02. I like to day trade TQQQ and SQQQ for two reasons. They're really nice to trade, they show a consistent upward pattern, and once the price drops below the 15 EMA, you get a nice drop. Before that, I'll cover the basics of swing trading. It's basically trading off momentum, and when you trade off momentum you can see what others are doing. One way to recognize that is the 15 EMA or the 15 SMA. I'll show you how to set those up.

03. I use thinkorswim from TD Ameritrade. Go to Studies, type "moving average," and you'll see the options. Exponential is the EMA, and this one is the SMA. I'll explain the difference quickly. Once you select it, it appears on the price chart, and you change all of them to 15. When I say 15 EMA or 15 SMA, that's what you'll be looking at. You can use whatever colors you like. I'm making the EMA red so we can clearly tell the 15 EMA and SMA apart. Once that's done, all the other charts down here don't really matter. The best way to day trade is off momentum from other traders.

04. This follows the market, and it's three times leveraged. Write this down: SQQQ and TQQQ. We'll cover more later, but for now, TQQQ follows the market and SQQQ shorts it, and both are leveraged. You can see that the 15 EMA and 15 SMA show a consistent downward trend, and the price doesn't really go above the 15 SMA.

05. What you need to look for is a starting candle. The first candle that doesn't touch the 15 SMA or EMA, the one that stands alone, basically indicates a shift into a different trend. This one, this one, and this one would each count. But when you day trade, you have to take some losses. That's inevitable, so accept that you'll sometimes lose. Some starting candles don't really work out. Still, I'd say about 70 to 80 percent of the time, a starting candle indicates direction. That applies to TQQQ and SQQQ, and day trading stocks is pretty much the same overall.

06. Next is a stock that's about to be delisted, but let's look at it. It has really high volume, but you can see it doesn't really cross the 15 EMA or SMA much. It goes up, goes down, dips under, and then starts pulling up. You don't buy back in until right here, and then it keeps climbing. So yes, it's a good day trade. You also need to think about support and resistance lines, but I'll cover that in another video.

07. If you go to TradingView.com, I have my own indicator, which I'm calling "Trade Bot 1." It works for day trading, swing trading, and long-term trading. Put it on the candles, switch to the 1-minute chart, and apply it to TQQQ, SQQQ, or whatever you're trading. The green and red line is basically a continuous ribbon that follows a few things. Once the line turns green, watch what it does. That confirms it's going up. Starting from the beginning of the day, it turned green and pushed up about five percent before turning red. Then it turned green again, about two percent, but you lost money on that trade. You have to be prepared to lose money, and that's the biggest lesson in all of this.

08. You can set these indicators to match each other. The moving average here is 20 instead of 15, just because that's what I'm using. You might prefer these lines because they get you in closer and are a bit tighter. At the same point you saw the green SMA push up, the indicator told you to sell, and you'd still be in profit. I like this version better because it connects the dots and fills in the gaps. When it turned red, you sold, then got back in and rode it all the way up. So you bought, sold, and bought again.

09. I counted the day's trades: eleven in total. How many failed? Maybe three, though I'm not sure whether some should count as profit or loss. I'll put this indicator in the description, and it'll be called "Trade Bot 1."

10. What you want in a good day trade is something that's running well and stands out. It looks smooth. I like to watch ETFs and a few other things. If they follow something like natural gas or prices, you can't really track the market directly, but you can look at futures. In thinkorswim, type /NQ, which is the Nasdaq Mini futures contract. It closely follows TQQQ. I like the SMA a little more because it's simpler and gets you in at a better price. NQ follows the market very closely. Here, it dips right below the line, you get a starting indicator, and you sell at that point.

11. Another indicator you might want is VWAP, the volume-weighted average price. To add it, type VWAP into the indicator search, hit add, then apply. You'll get three lines: purple, yellow, and pink. These act as support and resistance. Here, the price pushes up, and I'd have sold right at the top, which was the best price. Then it pushes above, comes back down, and uses the VWAP as support. VWAP is mainly used for support and resistance.

12. To confirm a trade, use the 15 SMA. The price goes down through the 15 SMA, then breaks above it. You get a starting candle, you buy, and you sell at the next point. Let's see how much profit you'd take. You entered at an average price and sold near the middle of the VWAP. That's a 0.6 percent gain. If you bought again at the next turn, that's another 0.12 percent. Then 0.45, then 0.14. You get the idea. There are other ways too, like RSI, but I'll cover those in a different video.

13. Support and resistance are the same line. It's roughly a 50/50 chance it acts as support or resistance. Here it was resistance, and then here it was support, and the price had a massive upward trend. Then it became resistance again. The top VWAP is a harder resistance, but that's just because of how the price behaves.

14. I'll move on to TQQQ now. My favorite day trading and swing trading stocks include Microsoft, Tesla, JPMorgan, Apple, TQQQ, Facebook, TSMC, AMD, Lululemon, Adobe, SQQQ, TVIX, USO, and a few others. I keep saying TQQQ and SQQQ, but those are just examples.

15. To practice, TD Ameritrade has its own software called thinkorswim On-Demand. You press this button, and all your indicators stay the same. Set the date, say June 2020, and it's like playing the market right now, except it's a few weeks in the past.

16. Thanks for watching. I hope you found this interesting. My next video will be about how my trade bot works. I have a few more trade bots I'm still working to launch. Whatever I can do, I'll do. That's it for now. Thanks for watching, see you next time. Like and subscribe for more content. Check out the other videos in my playlist on how to day trade and how to swing trade. I highly recommend the swing trading video because it's closely connected to day trading. Swing trading is essentially the same approach, just over a longer period, and it can be more profitable if you're under the PDT rule, which means you only get three day trades if you have under 25,000 dollars in your account. Go check that one out, I think it'll be useful. See you later.
