Rakesh Ranjan Wala was born in July 1960 in a Marwari family in Mumbai. His father was an income tax officer who was also very interested in the stock market. He often used to talk about shares with his friends, then one day around At the age of 14, Rakesh asked his father, "Dad, what is the stock market?" He replied, "Son, it's not easy to understand the stock market.
Read the newspaper every day. It provides information about different companies. Before investing in the stock market, we should understand the company's ups and downs." This was Rakesh's first exposure to the stock market. Gradually, as he grew older, Rakesh's interest in the stock market grew. Following his father's advice, he stayed updated with news about different companies.
When he gained sufficient knowledge, he expressed his desire to enter the stock market. He later graduated from Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics and became a chartered accountant in 1985.
Rakesh had completed his professional studies. Now it was time to enter the market, but by that time, he lacked significant funds. He made his first investment. He invested ₹5,000 when the BSE Sensex was at 150 points. But he earned his first big profit in 1986. Let me tell you how. He bought 5,000 shares of Tata Company for ₹93 per share and then sold them after just 3 months at ₹108 at the rate of ₹93, due to which he made a profit of ₹5,000.
Using his smart mind further, he earned around ₹25 lakh between 1986 and 1989 and then in the next few years his wealth increased to crores. But the biggest turning point of his life came in 2002 when he bought 6 crore shares of Titan Company at ₹3 per share. Later, the rate of that share increased incredibly to ₹30 to ₹90, due to which Rakesh Jhunjhunwala made a profit of around ₹210 crore.
Now friends, it is not that he always remained in profit. He has suffered huge losses by selling shares. In September 2011, he had invested in most of the big companies in which he had sold their shares very fast, due to which the rate of the shares invested by him also fell by 10 percent. But by using his mind, he recovered that loss in February 2012 itself and recently he had also suffered a good loss due to demonetization.
Whatever may be the case, after travelling a journey full of ups and downs, today Rakesh Jhunjhunwala's net worth is around 16 thousand crores and today he is the 53rd richest person in India. Rakesh Jhunjhunwala has only one mantra - buy right and hold tight. Buy the right shares and fold them with patience because if you bet hastily in the stock market, then loss is certain.
