01. His wife had to borrow coins from the neighbours. Just to buy milk, for my own child. The man who once could not afford even ₹14, later sat and talked with India's biggest business tycoons. This is not exaggeration. This actually happened and it took him 12 years of continuous losing money to get there.

02. His name is Vijay Kedia. Today people call him one of the best investors of India. But no one talks about the 12 years before that. The years when he kept losing, again and again and again. Kedia ji was born in 1959 in Kolkata in a Marwari family which was already in the stock broking business. You would think that this would have benefited them.

03. In some ways, yes. At the age of just 14, he used to sit with his grandfather and observe the market very closely. But then in 1978, when Vijay was in 10th class, his father passed away. The entire financial situation of the family collapsed almost overnight. What could have been a smooth path in the family business became a battle for survival.

04. At the age of 19, Kedia borrowed ₹35,000 from relatives. He threw himself into futures trading. One of the riskiest parts of the market. The early wins made it seem like they had it all figured out. This feeling did not last long. Losses started coming in fast and they kept coming. He mortgaged his mother's jewellery just to cover his expenses.

05. Six relatives lived in the same room. In a very difficult time, the family could not even save ₹14 for milk. His wife had to borrow coins from the neighbours. This went on for so long, 12 years. Not 12 months, but 12 years of repeatedly losing money in a market that seemed to punish them every time.

06. No matter what he tries. What prevented them from stopping ? Kedia himself has said this directly. He learned the hard way that greed ruins everything. Every failure was silently teaching him patience. Whether he wanted this lesson or not. Finally something changed. Kedia ji stopped chasing quick trades and fast profits.

07. He turned to long-term investing, where you have to identify a good company years in advance when no one else is paying attention to it and then just wait. This is where his real story begins. When most investors were ignoring small and unglamorous companies. KDa was quietly building positions in companies like Atul Auto and Sira Sanitary Ware.

08. At that time no one was talking about these stocks. Kedia saw something in him that others did not. It was n't just Decent Investments. These became multibaggers. Some even gave returns of more than 100 times their original investment. The man who once survived by selling his mother's jewellery now possessed wealth that seemed impossible just a decade ago.

09. But even after this success, the market did not stop testing them. Kedia witnessed the terrible crash of 1992 and then again in 2008. Both times, a large part of his wealth vanished right in front of him. He did not panic both times. He did not decide to sell everything and run away. He persevered and kept learning.

10. Today Vijay Kedia ji's net worth is estimated to be more than ₹1600 crores. He runs his own firm, Kedia Securities. He is closely followed by both retail investors and institutions and is known for his simple, easy-to-remember philosophy. Invest like a bull, sit like a bear and watch like an eagle. But if you ask what really made him successful, it wasn't some secret formula.

11. This was not inherited wealth and it did not seem so either. Kedia built almost everything from scratch. Without any business empire behind it, brick by brick, one mistake at a time. Somewhere in Kolkata, in a room filled with six relatives. A young man once saw his wife counting the coins she had borrowed to buy milk.

12. He could have left the market forever. Almost anyone would have left. But he stayed for another 12 years and turned failure into exactly the same training that ultimately made him rich. This is the part that people leave out when they call them Ace investors. The S word sounds easy to hear.
