other world one then we'll come back to another why I'm buying video where I talk about the stock that I own or am going to buy and I just picked up my first shares of Tesla now before I start the video I've been a Tesla skeptic for a while I've been watching the stock for four or five years it's been going sideways for a while now but when I asked myself why I was so skeptical about Tesla as an investment I couldn't really give myself an answer so I thought about it and I decided to invest in the company and this is what Tesla is first and foremost a car company but it's more of an electric power / battery company whatever can run on batteries Tesla is going to make it so right now the company sells cars as we all know they also sells solar panels power walls and commercial electricity storage in terms of battery power plants now the company was founded by alumnus back in 2003 and this man had a vision of an electric future where basically everything possible that could run on batteries would instead of fossil fuels so cars trucks planes buildings whole countries whatever he wanted us to go from fossil fuels to batteries or electricity now we did take the company public seven years later in 2010 and since then so that's about nine years the stock had returned at its peak 2,000 percent return going from seventeen dollars to 380 at its peak a while back now over the last four or five years or so the company has also increased its revenue by five hundred and seventy percent so the company has really been on the tear but the revenue has not really been the story a lot of people have been skeptical about other numbers surrounding Tesla and I will get back to those later in the video now over the years Tesla has expanded its fleet of cars and cars is the remain business they're now offering the Model S model X model three they've got the upcoming model y the Tesla Roadster and the semi truck so Tesla is now offering any car type of car apart from a pickup at any price point from $35,000 and upwards so they have cast for all needs and all price ranges and they do make the best cars these are the safest most efficient and best in tests cars so the fleet of cars have really impressed me and I was worried when all they did was sell Model S which was a luxury sedan that did read did well but wasn't gonna make the company a lot of money and then they had this one mass-market car called the Model 3 which there was a lot of uncertainty about but Tesla has shown that they will they are serious about making cars they have a huge range of vehicles now for all price ranges so they're really gonna hit the masses hard in my potestas revenue is sitting at about twenty one point five billion so that's five hundred and seventy percent increase since 2014 they're sitting with 3.7 billion in cash that's up from 1.9 billion in 2014 and they have a negative free cash flow so after all their expenses of negative two hundred twenty two million but that that's up from negative a billion more than a billion a billion in twenty seven million five years ago so all the numbers have been going up significantly going up fifty a hundred two hundred percent every year so it is definitely going the right way now there has been a lot of skepticism around and and harsh spotlights on Tesla's balance sheets but the company is running as fast as its can it's taking every single penny gets from investors and burning through it and investing in all sorts of new factories and new car models so it is a volatile balance sheet and they have a lot negative numbers but they're turning positive and as soon as the company's free cash flow positive which is not long if they keep on this trajectory the company is gonna be on its own it doesn't need the money and it's just going to go up from there so it has been sketchy at times but it's going the right way and it's going the right way really fast behind this balance sheets Tesla can operate the Tesla factory in Fremont the battery Giga factory in Nevada the gigafactory - in Buffalo the world's largest lithium battery in South Australia and they're planning to build the gigafactory number three in Shanghai China the world's largest market for electric vehicles so I was very pleasantly surprised when they got the permit to build in Shanghai the construction is already well underway and after that's done Tesla is going to be operating four of the largest factories in the world maybe four of the top ten so this company I mean I'm not a big on assets under management and it will assets on the balance sheets but with four factories and a Giga battery there four of the largest factories in the world they have a lot of assets and on its balance sheets went which you should take into account so when people ask where have all the money go gone well to build these massive massive factories which will pay themselves off in the future so with these Giga factories Tesla churned out eighty six thousand five hundred cars in the fourth quarter of 2018 that's a huge increase over the last one and just over the last 12 months well from 2017 to 2018 they increase product production from 120,000 to 350,000 almost a 200% increase in just 12 months so these Giga factories are coming online and they're continuously increasing capacity and efficiency because these factories of Tesla is not new producing as much car many cars as they could so they are increasing the capacity every quarter and churning out more and more cars from the same factories so the rate of efficiency and the rate of production is just gonna keep going up and as long as the demand is met these factories are going to be gold mines for testing demand for these cars is increasing rapidly and across the world evie new car sales only makes up about 1.5 percent of total sales so 95 99 8.5% to go now this is projected to to almost quadruple and hit 4.5 million new car sales by 2020 making up 5% of the total car sales so more than triple that of today and funny fact China is the largest market for electric vehicles and is growing very rapidly there and people can afford them now and Tesla is coincidentally building the world's largest factory so the Giga factory number 3 in China where they buy the most electric vehicles so I think that can be an explosive combination for Tesla now the countries with the highest percentages of electric vehicles when it comes to new car sales are some very lucrative markets so number one is Norway where I live followed by China Switzerland Netherlands and the US so this is where eby's makes up the big good chunk of the new car sales and and these car these countries are some of the highest GDP to capita countries in the world so these are very strong bodies and they want the best so the high price points of some of Tesla's car won't really matter that much our Tesla makes the best electric cars on the market the best designed most efficient and safest cars there and that doesn't look to change anytime soon the model 3 has received great test results and people are loving the car and I think this is going to be the big mass-market car for Tesla which is gonna send the company flying and improve their balance sheet a lot because they can now actually start making a lot of money selling a lot of cars at a decent price range for most people instead of the Model S and Model X which was kind of a niche product let's be honest and what Tesla have done they've also integrated vertically and taken control of the whole chain so they make the batteries they make the cars they sell the cars they promote the cars and they maintain the cars and so they're going big they're going for it they want to have everything in-house and I like they even have their own charging network so Tesla's going big there they're very bold and I like it there's ups and downs I mean there's good things and bad things about not having to deal with dealerships and they sell direct to consumers but there are some problems with having a lot of inventory and and sort of having circulation and all that so there's good and bad but overall I like this move by Tesla cuz it feels like a wholesome company that just does everything and as long as people want their cars they're going to do well there are fewer factors going on Tesla because you know they're doing everything themselves so they are they're masters of their own deaths so will Tesla be a one trillion dollar company by 2030 as famed investor and Tesla extraordinaire investor Ron Baron claims I think so there's this the sky's the limit for electric vehicles because they only make up 1.5 percent of total sales and we know that's going to go up dramatically and we also know that Tesla makes the best cars and that's about what the is to say as long as they keep doing what they're doing they're going to be massive and as long as the old the Wow's and all the all the concern about their balance sheet goes away once they go cash flow positive the it's it's it's it's all uphill from there you know they've they've done the investing they've done the hard part they've gone through the whole turbulence of uh you know making money burning through cash you're not making cars what's going on but they've they've fixed all these issues and once people see the balance sheet going positive I think it's all gonna be good and I have to also mention that there are some similarities between Tesla and Amazon back in 2014 while I invested visionary CEO burning through a ton of cash not making any a lot of criticism the stock hovering about around three hundred dollars you know will they ever make it way too expensive to buy according to most people but Amazon tear down turn down all rights I made about four hundred fifty percent of my investment now I don't think Elon Musk is another Jeff Bezos I don't think Tesla is a new Amazon I think what Jeff and Amazon did was you know might turn out to be a once-in-a-lifetime thing and I think Amazon is a better company than Tesla but there are some similarities and there is a lot of fear uncertainty and doubt around Tesla but the stock is still holding up there's some pretty passionate stockholders out there over Tesla and Tesla is not in a lot of ETFs so it's not like the company is getting free money it has to work really hard for its shareholders but I think they have a lot of long-term shareholders never gonna sell they believe in the vision they believe in this long-term story so I think this is a great hold and it's been hoped going sideways for about three years now so I think this is great time to buy now let me know what your opinion is on Tesla or its competitors and as always you know drop comments I answer all questions I'll see you guys my next vid
