Cryptocurrency mining is causing a shortage of AMD video cards in the market. The increased profitability of cryptocurrencies is causing a shortage of AMD cards, which, due to their design, are among the best for mining. For several weeks now, the shortage of these cards has been felt in the market.

Not only are the 4th generation video cards, the highly demanded Ere X4 series ( X4X460, X470, and X480), conspicuously absent from store shelves, but the drought also extends to the recently arrived R5 series (X5X560, X570, and X580). But what is happening is the question millions of consumers around the world are asking.

Did a legion of hardcore gamers suddenly emerge and exhaust the supply of AMD cards? The answer seems to lie in cryptocurrency mining. Since it became known that it is possible to mine TeDeum, Monero, DAS, and other cryptocurrencies with graphics cards, especially AMD cards, global demand has skyrocketed.

There is no supply left. It's quite clear why even the Rx5xx series has sold out, especially since AM was supposed to be prepared to meet the high demand it would generate. An important point to consider is that the Rx5xx series is aimed at gamers, and its potential is not very encouraging when compared to its predecessor, the Rx4xx series.

This compromises the price-performance ratio, a key factor for miners. Of course, nowadays, the high price of TeDeum doesn't represent any investment risk in acquiring these less efficient cards for mining, especially in a market where these devices have already been available. So perhaps what has happened is that a large number of miners have devoured a product that wasn't initially intended for mining, and consequently, the number of Rx5xx series cards that were available to a smaller market sold out unexpectedly very soon after being launched to the consumer market.

With all this scarcity, an analysis of the mining speed and difficulty of the network does n't show a significant slowdown. Perhaps this is because many miners are shifting their mining power from other cryptocurrencies to mining the lack of available chips. Andy has led many miners to focus on masks, and in many cases, less efficient ones.

In fact, there are some Nvidia models that are interesting for mining, such as the GTX 1070, which has quite attractive performance, as it can reach between 25 mph and 30 Mbps per bar, or even a little more with a small memory overclock while maintaining an acceptable temperature. The good performance of the Nvidia GTX 1070 has led some miners to start mining with this model, making it a solution when building mining rigs.

This solution may be expensive, but it is offset by the high profitability of cryptocurrencies like Te1. Currently, other more powerful Nvidia chips are not as good for mining, and Te1 Deum is a prime example, mainly due to the use of 5x video memory instead of the GDDR5 found in the... The GTX 1070's GDDR5 memory is faster in terms of clock speed and offers more bandwidth, but it also offers less aggressive memory timings and, as a result, isn't significantly faster than the supposedly slower GDDR5 memory.

Therefore, if you 're considering acquiring a GTX 1080 or GT X 1080 for Ternium mining, its price/performance ratio isn't attractive for ether mining. However, Nvidia is faster due to higher core clock speeds, lower memory clock speeds, and many other algorithms. But for now, miners are frustrated by supply problems with their cards, and this could finally discourage Nvidia from competing in a market currently dominated by the American giant Andy.

But Nvidia isn't just facing mass production issues due to high demand from the large and growing mining community; there has also been a significant shortage of several essential mining components, such as motherboards. There are more than 5 slots and power supplies of more than 1000W, among which the Bocas H 81 and the Supernova 1300W stand out, although they have been absent from the market for some time.

What is undeniable is that the mining community is growing rapidly, and all this is due to the profound impact that cryptocurrencies, especially Bitcoin and its underlying blockchain technology, have had. Given this scenario, it seems that manufacturers of mining components or hardware were not prepared to assume such a monumental commitment, which has put them in serious trouble.
