About $70 billion in assets were lost and the company's stock price fell by almost 100%. Welcome to the story of Yoshihiro Yusen, the founder of the Japanese bank, who was once the richest man in the world before falling to the masses. Yoshihiro Yusen was born in 1957 in Japan to a poor Korean family.

As a child, he lived in a small house near a railway station. At the age of 16, he went to study in the United States and later attended the University of California, Berkeley. While still a student, he invented an electronic language translation machine and sold the idea to a company for about $1 million.

In 1981, he returned to Japan and founded the company. On his first day, he stood on a box and told two employees that the company would be very big. The two employees thought he was crazy and quit his job. In the 1990s, he invested in several Internet companies, including Yoo. In 2000, he met Ma and invested $20 million in the still small Alibaba company in February 2000.

The stock market skyrocketed, making him the richest person in the world for a short time. But then the internet boom or bust, and the stock market crashed. According to him, his fortune had lost about $70 billion and S&P Bank shares had fallen about 99%. Many people thought he was finished, but this was the point.

While others fled the internet, S&P believed that the internet would change the world. In 2001, he started a high-speed internet service, Yahoo!, in Japan, by handing out free modems on the streets. The company spent years making money but gained millions of customers. In 2006, he bought the phone company Vodacom, borrowing heavily, and in 2008, S&P Bank became the first company to sell the iPhone in Japan.

In 2014, Alibaba listed on the stock exchange. The $20 million he had previously invested in it became a stock worth more than $50 billion. In 2017, he created the Venmo Fund, a $100 billion fund to invest in technology companies. But S&P never won all the time. The fund had suffered major losses from some investments, such as Vwork However, the bank is still one of the largest technology investment companies.

Mr. Sun is a very long-term thinker. In 2010, he even outlined a 300- year vision for the company. Lesson one: When there is a crisis, be careful to think clearly about whether what you believe in is still valuable in the long term. Lesson two: Taking big risks can make big profits and also lose big.

Sun wins because he sees opportunities. But he has also lost heavily many times. For investors in land or stocks in Cambodia who are losing, don't make decisions when you are nervous or angry. Reconsider whether the property is still worth the money. Make a long-term plan and don't borrow more than you can afford to repay.
