Imagine if you blocked out the noise of the world for six months, just market charts, businesses and risk No tips, no telegram calls, no chasing every other stock. Can six months change your thinking? Because in 1985, a young Indian investor entered the market with reportedly just ₹5,000. He had no guaranteed formula.

He had curiosity, the capacity to take risks and a different perspective. As a child, Rakesh used to listen to his father and his friends discuss songs . This is where the fascination started. When he chose a career in the market. Father supported me but said don't ask for money from me. He later revealed that his first stock was Tata T and that was one of his early big wins .

The market was not easy but by 1986 he had earned roughly Rs 20-25 lakh from letter recall. Then the market slowed down. Nothing spectacular happened for two-three years. And this is the phase where most people quit. Got married in 1987. The market was bearish. Income was uncertain and success seemed far away.

When there wasn't much happening in the market. Quit the market. Look for another career. One night the market discussion went on until 3 am. The city was sleeping. But his market obsession was still alive. He invested his capital in Tata Power and by 1988, that investment took him to the level of Rs 1 crore.

₹5000 to crore. Sounds like Secret stock might have been found. But the story gets interesting now. Jhunjhunwala wanted to become an investor but lack of capital pushed him towards trading as well. His trading philosophy was simple. Understand the direction, don't stand against the trend with ego. And when trading, don't make the wrong hope your strategy.

It was a lesson from Jhunjhunwala. The first loss can be the best loss. But the same impatience can be dangerous in investing. The role of Conviction and Patience on Good Business was completely different. Stubbornness is dangerous in trading. It is almost impossible to hold a big winner in investing without conviction.

Then came Sesa Goa. Aynor business was depressed. The stock was cheap and the market did not believe the story. He was convinced after seeing the facts. And when the market was laughing, they started building positions. But conviction does not mean certainty. Jhunjhunwala himself used to say that profits are famous, not losses.

There is a simple truth in the market. The outcome of the same opportunity can completely change as the size of the risk changes. He also used leverage. Leverage accelerates capital. But that same leverage can also make the wrong trade dangerous. In 2002, he took big long positions, thinking the market was bottoming.

The call turned out to be wrong and he had to book a heavy loss. A successful trader is not one who is never wrong. A successful trader is one who remains in the game even after being wrong. Now back to the Six Month Questions. If you just learn predictions for six months, probably nothing will change.

But if you study risk, position sizing, trends, businesses and your emotions , the result may be different. Suppose you have ₹100 capital. The question is how much will the profit be? No. The question is, if you go wrong, how much will you lose ? Not every candle is an opportunity. Not every stock is a multibagger.

And activity does not equal profitability. You have to manage your emotional account before your trading account. Fear, Greed, Ego, Revenge is all expensive. Copying the trades of a successful investor seems easy. But same stock, different capital, different risk, different result. ₹5,000 was important.

Tata T, So Goa was important. But the most important was the decision making process. Do n't set the target of becoming a billionaire in six months. Becoming a Disciplined Trader in Six Months. That target is actually something you can control. The market's biggest secret is probably not the next stock. The secret is how you think when money is on the line.
