Tom Lee reaffirmed in an interview that he believes in Ethereum's $10,000 price target, meaning a price increase of somewhere between 150-200% could be possible in the next 12 months. He gave us an outrageous prediction, or outrageous in my opinion. He said that ETH will be at $10,000 by the end of the year. What is your opinion on this ? I...but I wouldn't be surprised. I think this will be one of the biggest crypto cycles. So, you know, I don't know if that means it's going to happen by the end of the year, but in the next 12 months, I think ETH is going to have much higher prices than 10,000. Mgm. Good. Um, Arthur mentioned some slowness in the network.
You know, Ethereum has had a bit of a bad reputation for years for being one of the slower blockchains, even though it's one of the pioneers, right? But I mean, in your opinion, you are obviously an Ethereum bull. Why do you think he fell a little behind or got the reputation he has? Well, I believe that ETH was designed to be a network for everyone.
But they have made many improvements. So I think speed and even usability will no longer be an issue. I mean, these issues have been largely resolved. And companies like ETH gas are actually reducing block creation time. I would say that Ethereum, especially now, after the restrictions, is becoming much more commercial.
Of course. Now I see the final data. Bitmain now owns almost 5% of the total Ethereum supply. Tell us about your accumulation strategy and further business development. Yes, we just crossed the 6 million ETH mark. It took us 15 months to do this. Most of this happened in the midst of a bear market. So I think this is a pretty significant achievement, considering that the crypto market was in "winter." But I think that in the next 12-18 months, all DApps, not just Bitmain, will significantly increase their cryptocurrency purchases.
Therefore, I believe that cryptocurrencies that have DApps will perform the best, because these DApps essentially buy cryptocurrency and remove it from circulation. Ethereum DApps now own a total of 7% of the supply. This is more than Bitcoin or Solana DApps. And I can assume that in this "bullish" cycle this figure will reach 15%.
Your goal for savings, as I understand it, was 5%. When you reach that point, will you stop buying? Well, we're not quite at the 5% mark yet. We still need to buy some more . Will you reach 5%, or will you stop buying after that? We have...... the maximum. We haven't announced what we're going to do yet.
Of course. But...... I want to share the news. Yes. But I think we have three priorities. First—we want to maintain our maximum exposure to ETH. Because, again, I think Arthur is conservative in the sense that in past cycles Ethereum has grown 50-200 times. So, let's say ETH increases 25 times. That's 62,000 ETH.
That is, Bitmain shareholders will make a lot of money simply by holding ETH. We also conducted the largest share buyback in the crypto industry. 21 million shares out of 350 million. Yes. And this was done in July. We literally identified...we really found the bottom for Bitmain. This was the bottom for the stock.
And a month later, you know, the price actually almost doubled. And we have all these ambitious projects. I think in the next crypto cycle, when it comes to tokenization, AI, and computing, we have a strong balance. We could use the opportunities there. I want to continue the topic you talked about regarding digital asset treasuries.
You know, there was a time, not too long ago , when digital asset treasuries were very popular, in the spotlight. Then they began to fade. We are starting to see that some of these companies were unable to withstand the bear market. It sounds like you're saying we'll see a resurgence of digital asset treasuries.
Tell us a little bit about what that might look like and how it will be different from what it was a year ago . Yes. Yes, and I think maybe people should divide them into two categories. If the debt is trading below its net asset value (NAV), you are buying cryptocurrency at a discount. So in a bull market, it's better to buy debt, because if you don't want to pay, say, 85,000 for a bitcoin, you can buy it for 60,000, right?
But those that trade above NAV—and I'm sure all debt will rise above NAV in this bull market— then they issue capital, buy more crypto, and remove supply . This dynamic will cause a huge price movement. I mean, one of the reasons for Hyperliquid's success is that Hyperliquid debt owns 14% of the supply.
So they keep buying. What happens when they reach 50% of the offer? I think the price could go into parabolic growth, right? Tom, you said that institutions are still underinvested in crypto at the start of Q4, which starts in a few days. What is your model for what institutional crypto allocation in a balanced portfolio should look like next quarter?
Many financial institutions already provide clear asset allocation guidelines, ranging from 2% to 10%. If I look at Fundstrat institutions, it's maybe 5% or even 2%, which means the vast majority of institutional investors don't have crypto assets. So how do I get to the point that if Ethereum hits $10,000 within the next 12 months, say mid- October or late October 2027 , that's okay?
So we have a kind of 4x growth from the current level, okay? So 4x for BMNR— that would be $25 to $100, right? And as I said in the introduction, it's about 150, you know, 180 or even 200 dollars. Well, Tom Lee recently showed us this chart, and as you can see, if Ethereum is at 22,000, then BMNR should be worth somewhere between $300 and $500, right?
It always depends on MNAV. The higher the MNAV, and the higher the price, the less dependent on Ethereum. It would work like this: let's say if Ethereum goes up 1%, then Bitmain could go up 5%, right? I mean, we saw it today: crypto went up 3% and Bitmain went up 6%, right? So, as you can see, this is very important to understand.
So he really reaffirms that he wouldn't be surprised if we achieved these goals within the next 12 months.
