Uh, and we need to find out what the hell happened here . The third quarter was better than expected, but people say the outlook was disappointing. I doubt it, but that's okay because we have Lisa Sue here, who knows a lot more about the company than I do. Lisa, first of all, welcome. Fantastically.
You are wonderful. Good. Good morning. Good morning. How are you doing? I'm fine. Okay, let's get straight to the point, because people are really concerned. I won't use the word " scared" because we'll save that for Halloween. At the beginning of the year, you said you would make 2 billion in AI, and you made 5 billion.
Now you've made 5 billion. At the beginning of the year, your stock was worth 154. Now your stock is worth 153. How is it possible that you can offer 2 billion as your forecast, then make 5 billion, and your stock hasn't changed? Could you explain this to me, please? You are better at math. You were at Bronx Science.
First of all, it's nice to see you this morning. Listen, we had a very strong third quarter. If you look at the overall growth, we grew by 18% compared to last year. We had a very strong quarter for data centers. We had a very strong quarter for servers. We had a very strong quarter for artificial intelligence.
And we, as you said, have raised our AI revenue forecast from 4.5 billion to over 5 billion in AI revenue by 2024. So overall, there are many positive aspects. And you know, this is a story of long-term growth. You know that. When we think about the huge demand that exists in data centers for both artificial intelligence and traditional computing.
You know, we are one of the very, very few players that can offer all the computing capabilities you need. So, you know, from that perspective, I think, you know, we feel really good about where we are. At the end of the year, we plan to grow in the fourth quarter by 22% year-on-year . And it's all about the growth of data centers, the growth of servers, the growth of artificial intelligence, and also the growth of PCs.
So, that's all we see in this business. I am incredibly strong in the PC and server market. I see you're getting an incredible share, honestly, from another company I was meeting with when your shares were worth four, and they were at 50. You told me to get out of 50, go to four. You're taking a stake in this company, aren't you ?
We have a very strong processor cycle, I can say that. You know, we just launched our Zen 5 processors. The strongest portfolio we've had overall, you know, we're running at full capacity. When you look at this traditional server market, we're starting to see refresh cycles in both the cloud and the enterprise sector, and that's reflected in overall demand.
And you know, we also have a very strong portfolio if you look at the PC-related artificial intelligence market. So this is another good growth vector for us, and we are also at the very beginning of this cycle. One of the reasons we own your Chapel Trust shares, and have for some time, is that we firmly believe that AI is so big that there is room for more than just two players .
That it's not just Jensen Huang and no one else. Uh, could you prove that you are actually a strong number two company and getting stronger? Yes, of course. Listen, I'm a big believer in AI. This is really the beginning of what I like to call the AI supercycle. We believe AI will be in every aspect of computing, whether it's large clouds, enterprises, the edge, or client PCs.
And this requires computing resources of various sizes, and that's exactly what we have. You know, we're at the beginning of the cycle, and as we said at the beginning of the program, we started with our MI300, the AI GPU, about 10 months ago. We announced this in December last year. We said, "Hey, you know, we think the revenue will be about 2 billion." And we knew this was just the beginning, but we had just incredible partnerships with all the, you know, cloud services, the biggest hyperscalers.
We've made great progress with Meta, with Microsoft, with Oracle, with a number of players in the field of artificial intelligence. And we will continue to do so in the future. So I think AI is really in its infancy, and our goal is to be a very, very strong computing service provider in this area. And really partner with the biggest, you know, suppliers in the industry.
