holy smokes I feel like I'm coming to you from the organ trail folks meet Kevin here it is the morning of March 18th and like him or not the New York Times just got a hold of this the US government response plan this is over 100 pages long and inside of it are some really damning bits of information that are kinda scary folks in this plan it says and I'll quote this this issue will last 18 months or longer and could include multiple waves resulting in significant shortages for the government private sector and individual US consumer and that vaccine development while under rapid development will take an extended time to develop and even research into existing medications or antivirals will take an extended time for FDA review oh my gosh I hear I was literally thinking okay you know what we're gonna be at home until like the first week of April you know let's just we give it a few weeks we'll kind of stay at home and the more of us do this the quicker this will end and it'll all be good well then Donald Trump comes out and says he's got a big plan and you know what this should all be over by July or August leading states and counties to say oh crap we might have to leave schools closed through the rest of this basically school year and through the summer which a lot of kids are really excited about okay I mean it means you got to yourself like a six month summer but this is not the kind of summer you want because you're gonna be mostly stuck and so just when I think things are getting better in places like China the US government thinks 18 potential months and the potential to have to enact something called the defense production Act which gives the government the authority to essentially take control of vital resources and potentially even manufacturing plants so that they can make sure they can produce respirators or vachs scenes or whatever it is they need to combat this that's crazy it's scary to see that this stuff exists I mean again like him or not Thank You New York times for getting a hold of this and putting it out because it gives us a little bit more guidance because I feel like you know we're kinda a little bit in the dark and that's what we're seeing in the stock market as well why is it that prices are going up and they're going down it's cuz we're in the dark we're clueless so there are two really big concerns that I have here and then I want to give you sort of an action plan so let's go through the two big concerns I have with this and then give you kind of a personal action plan at least kind of what I'm thinking about number one I worry that this is going to create a massive risk for rewiring all of us as consumers ordinarily we might be in the habit of spending money at the gym and then maybe we go to the mall at spend money there and then we spend money at the movie theaters or we you know we go to Starbucks or we go to the same food court cafeteria food every day because we love it I get it I totally get it but what happens when off and on we have to get used to stay at home for an extended period of time well we end up rewiring ourselves all of those things become less important all of those spending habits we had just got broken they're no longer habits they got broken by force so even when all of this blows over there's a real potential that the US consumer which makes up 70% of the US economy that is you and I spending money on stupid things like Beats headphones Apple watches and iPhones that you drop all the time and break every single time you seem to get it replaced it seems to break again yeah us spending money on things like that is what keeps the world going but what if all of a sudden all of our habits get broken I mean there's also a very real potential that as more of us get used to working at home or we get jobs that enable us to work from home there's going to be less of a need for cars which means there's gonna be less demand at Tesla which isn't good for the Tesla stock which it's gone well that's gone anyway what this sort of breaking the consumer impact is some that is totally not priced into the markets right now I I personally don't believe any of us have even considered that's potential and that's scary to me now another thing that's scary to me is that the government's probably going to push stimulus hardcore but what is stimulus mean if every American gets $1,000 what are we probably gonna do well a we're probably gonna stick it into a savings account or ba we'll pay off debt as much as the government thinks we're gonna take a stimulus check and go spend money on watches and Beats headphones if we're getting rewired would probably not gonna spend money like they think we will especially at a time like this when there's not only clear uncertainty but we're being told one thing and then in the background we're getting leaked reports that are telling us totally different things this is insane so what should we do and how do we plan how do we go forward in terms of our money our jobs stocks and real estate what the heck should we be thinking and and what am I thinking and certainly I don't have all the answers I'm just a dude on YouTube but I feel like at least us having a dialogue about this has the very real potential of a helping you out so number one whatever it is you do right now you might really hardcore ask yourself the job I have right now am i comfortable with what's potentially going to happen over the next 18 months according to this report which is crazy and then you know how for like two months I've been recommending everybody by those p100 respirators because they were still available well they're all sold out now which I'm not trying to make you feel bad about that don't worry about that think to yourself though you gotta be ahead of the curve in terms of the job transformation so if you're not comfortable with your job now you think I mean this will blow over in a month or two and then I'll be back at work that's fine that's best-case scenario right I think that's what we're all hoping I secretly I'm hoping not tomorrow somebody discovers a vaccine and that gets massively produced and in three months this whole thing is totally blown over with that all stocks skyrocket again and we all had a cool little opportunity to go buy some stocks on red days and the people who bought are like oh yeah we did well and all the people who held on to their put positions are like ah crap lost all that money I made really quickly and everything's back to normal that's I think what a lot of us are hoping but hope and what might actually happen can sometimes be two very different things so this is where I recommend watch the video that I made yesterday on thirteen potential jobs that could be very powerful during this kind of crisis so now might be that perfect time to study a sign hustle to get into a side hustle to get into a side gig that's going to be profitable for the long term during this period of time even if it means you're sitting at home looking for deals to wholesale because you want to analyze some really good real estate investment opportunities because guess what anytime a good deal comes up especially a fixer there is never a shortage of a buyer for a good deal in real estate so learn how to identify deals like this go find a side hustle doing 3d scanning consider delivering stuff if you need to maybe get a job with ups in fact yesterday one of the jobs I recommended was being a driver for UPS I did incorrectly mention because of the listing that I was looking at said this that you needed a CDL class a license to be able to work for UPS but you could actually drive a box truck without a CDL which is really great but the earlier you think about getting into a new job or getting into new side gigs like this the better protected you're going to be before everybody else gets into these things and then the market saturated you want to get in while the jobs are available not when all the jobs are gone I think that makes sense but this to me just made that a lot more urgent so we know we have a big potential impact to consumers we know we have a big potential impact to our government in terms of the amount of debt that they're going to take on there's a good chance we'll even go towards a negative interest rates it wouldn't surprise me if we start looking a whole lot like a European economy which is slower growth and lower rates and lower returns on our investments wouldn't surprise me at all now what are we personally doing well job transformation is the number one most important thing but what about investing should we even bother investing right now it is so volatile and scary and there's so much fear and like I just want to have a real let's take dialogue here about the stuff that I'm hearing which this it is scary but let's realistically talk about investing right now should we think about investing in real estate and stocks what should we do my opinion is now is the best time to consider looking at our budgets consider looking at our income and expenses and taking the extra money that we'd ordinarily be spending on travel entertainment and food eating out at Starbucks coffee look at that extra income instead of as solely savings take a good portion of that and start throwing it into investments slowly just make sure that every time you buy a stock you don't fall victim to thinking all right well I'm just gonna put this money in and I'll sell it in six months I'm just gonna buy a house right now and I'll be able to sell it in two years and flip it for a big profit if right now you're going in speculating I think you're setting up a recipe for disaster but if you go in thinking all right we've got our income we've got our job set we're good we're ready to ride this out for 18 months let's now take the extra money we'd ordinarily be spending as a consumer and throw it into investments on red days you see a good fixer in real estate you buy it you see a good fixer stock you buy it if the value goes down a little bit so be it you're planning to hold for the long term and when I say long term I mean psychologically programming yourself to say it's okay to buy a stock at $200 and then see it go down to 175 because you believe in the long run it's going to go up now a lot of folks will look and say oh but Kevin I mean if it's if I'm looking at a stock at $200 and it's gonna go down to 175 why wouldn't I just wait and I get it that's a perfectly rational opinion but usually what happens is when we're thinking well I'm just going to wait is we never end up starting and what's gonna happen is in five years we're gonna be looking back going dang I should have just invested I shouldn't have waited who cares if the stock was 200 or 175 I was fearful at buying it at $200 because then if it went down all my friends would have laughed at because they would have bought it for 175 and I would have paid $200 who cares screw everybody else get in the habit of taking that extra money that you're saving right now and start investing so you at least are making purchases and if you get your mindset dedicated to placing money into the market but only do this if you're comfortable with your job if you're comfortable with your reserves your income and expenses and you're not gonna need to touch your investment money for the next five years plus if you're comfortable with that know that I'm investing hopefully the advice in this video helps you out I am personally nervous about this report but I'm still investing with that said hopefully there's better news tomorrow
