What has been your best investment till date? Look at my best investment, it has been different at every level, like understand if it is a matter of range, understand at that time there was Punjab Tractor, then there was my ACC, in between also during the IT time many shares came out like this, I had taken one share, Leading Edge, that too was mine, I had taken it in 50-60, I came out in 700, Leading Edge is Leading Edge, that company was sold later and its name got changed, I took it in 50-60, then it came out in 700-800, it became 00, so I was in 700-800, the one of 2200 later something happened, it got ruined, so such investments kept happening at every stage, if I talk about the significant ones now, then between 2003 and 2005 I had taken three shares, I took Logistics, Lotto, Cera Sanitary, all these three increased 100 times, Cera Sanitary increased 100 times, if If I add my dividend then my cost is zero, my cost is so today if I sold it two months or three months ago it gave me 16000 times return brother, I am not talking about 16000, yes it gave me 16000 times return, so what I mean to say is that I kept getting many such returns, 16 times, you would never have imagined that a stock can generate so much, when you go to buy it, there is no question of 16000 or 16 times, so I thought brother, for 5 years that share kept coming, I bought it for three, four or five, suppose I bought it at the price of ₹, okay, the share which was of 0, it again became 100 and a quarter, today that split or some bonus came one to one, so I am telling you after adjusting it, I bought it for 30, the one which was of 30 became 125 and the one which was of 25 came back to ₹, so 30 I did not sell even 125, the one of 125 came back to 30 but still I did not sell it, now after that I got 175 dividend in it, brother I got 175 dividend on the share of 130, if I add it till today then the price of that share is 8200 ex bonus, then the price is 16400, so I got 16000 times return, 16000 times, so it is like this, then I do not sell it again, I forget that money, this thing comes to my mind that the money which I have invested in whichever company, I own those shares, then again that knowledge of Gita comes to my mind that I do not own anything, whatever I have, so for this I have made a quote that your investment belongs to the market, your profit belongs to you, your demat statement belongs to the market, your bank statement belongs to you, that I do not even spend that money after looking at that money, consider my portfolio as an example, it has become worth 25 crores in this share.
Or if you lose Rs 5 crore or Rs 50 lakh and the money is not in your bank, then I do n't spend it. If I go to spend tomorrow, I do n't spend it after looking at my DP statement. I spend after seeing how much money I have in the bank. It comes to my mind that I have so much because I have seen in the stock market that today it is one thing and tomorrow it is something else.
So, don't be proud of it. There might be some regret of yours. You were trying to invest in a stock but you couldn't do it and then suddenly the price fell, you thought that I had it but couldn't do it. In this story, I will mention two shares which were the biggest mistake of my life, I do n't mean regret but a mistake.
If you think about it, one, I had bought Stuart Sun Lloyd, it was a Tata company. Then Tata gave the base to Indian Oil Corporation. Oil tanking was a German company, both of them together, so they created a GV and they bought Stuart Sun Lloyd from Tata. I bought that company and I must have taken three-four rupees from it.
Later, that company became zero and it got delisted. Indian Oil Corporation company, so this is a mistake and regret, but I remember a new incident, it is a new regret, by the way, no regret stays with me for long in life, it depends on its gravity, but they pass quickly, then I forget them, I have learnt this in life, I will give an example, like people call you, your viewers, your audience, or whoever I meet from the management, someone tells me that you should meet the management, I said that I lose money by meeting the management, I will tell you the truth, I have no interest in meeting the management because I invest in small and medium cap, brother, so I feel that the management itself does not know how big it can become, you never know what you can become, so right now, for example, there is a company, like GMDC, I have been watching this company for a year, I feel that maybe it will destroy the company, I have 0 I bought some shares in 30-40, I had 5 lakh shares in this company, after that it became 2.20, then it became 210-20, then it became 50-6, I thought it's okay, it does n't matter to me, I feel there is a turnaround, there is lignite, there is that, then some talks about rare earth kept coming, its management said I will extract rare earth and I will do this, I will do that, I said my work is done, all this will bring out mobile cars, he sat in his big car, now it is an interesting thing, see meeting the management, just a month ago I met a gentleman in Gujarat and he is an ex-IS officer, he is okay, he has retired from some government job, poor thing, he has retired, he has become old, he is a little fond of the stock market, so someone introduced me to him, he asked me, brother, what about Kidiya ji, please tell me like this, he said, Sir, I like GMDC, your company is from Gujarat, he is a very gentleman, very nice, very straightforward man, he said, oh no No, GMDC is nothing, so what is it, it is a company, this, that, it is like that, he told me something negative, he said sir, it is in the rear area, oh there is no rear area, rear area comes under the central government, this comes under the state government and nothing will happen to it, it will happen, he told me, just think, I myself was an IAS officer years ago, so what did I say, I generally do not listen to anyone, but since he was from Gujarat cadre, my mind went crazy a bit, I said, friend, I sold shares for Rs 160, 70, 75 and this thing would not have happened in 15-20 days, it is now the price of 00, friend, the price is Rs 380, so every day I look at GMDC, my last night is over, brother, I don't know if the company will lose, so this is a regret, whenever I saw its price, I removed it from my screen, I do n't have to see it, so I am overcoming it because the whole game was over in these 10 days, 15-20 days So Vijay Bhai, your portfolio is quite impressive right now.
By the way, where do you see yourself in the next 10 years? Do you ever think that I will be one of the top three investors in India? I mean, you think like this, do you have some passion? Of course, you have the passion to be number one. Look, it always remains in your mind that yes brother, of course, I should be at the top in whatever work I am doing.
I did not get the first rank in school, but of course, this thought definitely remains in your mind that yes brother, because yes, I should also do something big. Of course, you will definitely do it and you are doing it too. It is not like that. And obviously, you have generated such good returns. Well, one thing that I like about you, Vijay Bhai, is probably from your own investment journey.
You always try to help retail. Be it your quotes, your songs, your interviews, as you are saying, you have written a fresh song. I think if you could play four lines of that for us, then you would be happy. Yes, and I have a song. I have written and that song is like this, invest after thinking carefully, don't waste time on rumours and tips, this is a business of knowledge and patience, learn from experience and do your best, invest after thinking carefully, very wonderful Vijay Bhai and today your voice was a little weak, still you sang this song for us, thank you very much for that and today thank you very much for being the first guest in my podcast, thank you dear, thank you very much, thank you so much, so this was Vijay Kedia and next week we will meet another special guest
