What does Tom Lee really think about Bitmain? As you know, I had the opportunity to meet with him last January in Vegas at the annual shareholder meeting at the Wynn casino, and I had one question for him , and here's what we're going to talk about, what he really thinks about his company. Welcome to a brand new video and my name is Danny.
If you have n't seen me yet, I'm probably the biggest, you know, retail investor in BMNR, aside from some other big whales. But I also, maybe or maybe not, maybe, but I'm pretty sure I'm the biggest BMNR YouTuber, and I've been on YouTube for a couple of years, almost ten years. And I was one of the biggest Tesla YouTubers back then, and Tesla went from 23 to 11 and then to 500, okay?
So, as you can see, long-term investing requires some patience, but there are always the same signs of great leadership, great product, great execution. And all of this actually fits the BMNRI narrative. Okay, so don't forget to subscribe to all four of my channels. I met Tom Lee, the goat, the guy who is so famous and speaks so well about the stock market in Las Vegas. That was a few months ago, as you can see.
You know, I met him. We had a nice chat, and, you know, I was there for the presentation, and I was able to really understand the Bitmain community, as well as the investors. There were some crazy big investors who put like $50 million into Bitmain, and they're saying, " Hey, we never, you know , worried about Bitmain." We're more for the investor, the retail investor, because retail investors are always, you know how to say it, a little nervous about, you know, investments going down, right?
But if you look at the long term, you can see that this is just a small dip, and maybe in two or three years we'll look back on this and say, "Oh, you know, I wish I could have bought more shares at $14, $15 or whatever right now, right?" So, with that in mind , I talked to him and asked him, Tom, are you happy with everything, how it went, you know, the presentation, the annual shareholder meeting, and so on.
And he replied, "Yes, you know he is pleased." But one thing he's unhappy about, okay? And that was when the stock was worth, I think, about 35, maybe 30, right? Back in January. And he said something like, "I'm unhappy with the stock price because it should have been closer to 75 back then, right?" So I agreed with him to a certain extent , obviously, because, you know, I also want stocks to go up.
I can't say anything bad about, you know, we're underperforming because I'm still in the accumulation phase. Obviously, if Bitmain is 100-50 tomorrow, I'll not only be a lot richer, but I'll also, you know, be really happy that it's finally taken off. But I know that feeling because I invested in Nvidia at an early stage, in Palantir at an early stage, in Robinhood at an early stage.
How does it feel when a stock goes from, like, 40 to five, okay? For example, for Robinhood, right? And then it takes 2 years to break even , right? Or even longer. So, I think ultimately, there are a few things that I think are. So, first of all , Tumbly is obviously extremely tied to the stock price, right?
Because, first of all , he has his own reputation, right? He goes out and wants to build something, and it all depends on Ethereum, and you can't do anything about the price of Ethereum, right? So Ethereum is where it's at , right? Second, he is building something long-term. Obviously, you can see that he is just getting started .
They decide everything. You know, they introduce new products, new investments, right? So they are still in a very young state. I mean, the company is barely a year old, right? So what do you expect in terms of development? And I feel like they've accomplished a lot this year as a company, in terms of execution, right?
So that's number one. Secondly, I think we really need to understand that his personal fortune is obviously going to be determined by, you know, he's obviously a very wealthy and successful person with his interesting strategy, you know, with all his other things. He got into Bitcoin, you know, other stocks very early on.
So I'm sure his personal fortune was well taken care of. But you also need to understand that most of his wealth is his, and he could become a billionaire, okay? If BMNR works. And I mean, you know, getting to those numbers of $500 a share, $1,000 a share, right? As you recall, there is a kind of execution plan and also a compensation plan, right?
The same thing that, if, you know, Tesla and SpaceX grow exponentially, you know, Elon Musk is going to get richer and richer, right? For example, we saw when SpaceX went over 200, then, you know, he became the first trillionaire, Elon Musk, which was great for him , and obviously, you know, it was absolutely crazy.
So, I think that overall, you know, these two things are very important. And thirdly, you can understand how involved he is in a lot of, I would say, unimportant things, but he really looks at things that could affect the stock, the potential or the popularity of BMNR, right? You can see him participating in various podcasts.
He participates in various shows. He gives presentations. He keeps us updated, doesn't he? All of this is always a great sign that someone is not hiding, even when the stock price is not going up, right? I mean, even yesterday he shared a tweet where coffee outperformed Ethereum, and that was pretty funny because he, you know, understands that the current situation is not very favorable for the BMLR bulls, right?
Last but not least, I think his involvement in making Ethereum a bigger asset is absolutely outstanding, do n't you think? So you see him meeting with the Ethereum guys. He's trying to do good things for the Ethereum Foundation, whether by buying their Ethereum, or supporting them with ideas, or meeting with Vitalik and discussing various things, right?
Having some ideas, he shares them publicly. So you can see that Ethereum's desire to grow is very great. And I think that's a personal vendetta that Tom Lee next to Fundstrat never took on , you know, was at the helm of the company, right? So you can see that this is his first child, and this is his first public child, right?
So he will obviously do everything he can to make this company successful. Now we know that the company is very, very, um, you know, involved with cryptocurrency, obviously. Later on, maybe it will be more related to their investments, like Google with their grand projects, like Google, which invested in, for example, YouTube, right?
Waymo and all that other stuff. Um, you know, and I think that, um, what he really wants is to be seen as a successful person running a public company, because now, you know, we've seen how the media and the internet can be very cruel to people when it doesn't work out that way, like with Michael Saylor, but a lot of people forget that the stock was at three, then it went up to 400, right?
He was the king of the world, and now they're at level 100 or 120 or whatever, and MicroStrategy, and he's a horror story, right? But everyone forgets that the shares were at level three. So, you always have to distinguish between what the company is doing and what the media and the numbers are essentially saying about holding a very volatile asset, right?
So many times we have had bull and bear markets in cryptocurrency, and it is quite normal for such an asset to fall by 60, 50, 70%. Unfortunately, this happened when we were just starting out, but this is what he wants to do in the long run. I mean, you know, Tom Lee can't see this as a success. And the questions that I would ask him at the next meeting, essentially, and I would like to hear your thoughts, and I hope to see you, perhaps at the next annual meeting of shareholders in January.
I hope they will be held in Vegas as well. But I would like to see answers to a few questions. So, first, can we do a little twist, right? For example, Tesla moved from cars to robotics, right? And they worked on the clothing a little bit, and then they realized, "Okay, robotics really makes more sense long-term because it's a little bit more, you know, leverage that they can have for the company." So I think obviously the main story of Wall Street and where people are building is AI.
So I would like BM and R with all this money they have now, which is very liquid, right? So to see if they can really do something in the field of AI as well. "It would be great to see," he said. –“Okay, Bitmain is doing something in AI, uh, you know, giving that side of the business a little more options .
But that obviously requires a fantastic team that is also entrepreneurial.” And as for Tom Lee, he's obviously a very niche specialist in finance, and he's arguably the scapegoat of retail finance, and he's doing this for retail finance to have better research with his company, uh, Fundstrat. And we know that millions of people are already benefiting from his calls for Bitcoin or other crazy predictions that eventually came true a couple of years later.
So, I think this is very important. That would be important to me. And then the third question, or the second and third one that I would ask him is: Okay, what is the overall strategy for the next downturn? It is clear that we will have another bullish trend on Ethereum. I mean, I'm pretty sure of it.
But what happens, how can we protect ourselves from the next fall, okay? So, let's say if you hit 7,000. Obviously, you know, the BMNR would already be at 150 by then. But how can we protect ourselves as a company so that we are less dependent on Ethereum, and how can we protect ourselves for Ethereum.
Can we possibly hedge the entire position? Can we maybe split it up a little bit? Do we sell a lot of Ethereum to have a bunch of money and say something like, “Oh, you know, we made about 40 percent of the profit on this Ethereum investment, and it was 1,500, right ?” Or even, you know, 200 percent, uh, implemented." So, in my personal opinion, that would be a good question .
And the last thing I would like to ask him, like, what is his grand vision for BMNR, right? I mean, of course, creating the largest treasury for Ethereum, but what other ideas does he have in mind? Because there's so much going on behind the scenes, guys. As we know, they wanted to create an app. They want to collaborate with Mr.
Beast Bank, right? This is still ahead. So there are a lot of things that I think are still a lot ahead that we can all imagine, okay? And with that in mind, uh, let me know what you think Tom Lee really thinks about Bitmain. Uh, come on over to xandate.com if you want us to...for you, and see you tomorrow for a new video, .
