01. are you seeing signs of inflation beginning to increase we're seeing very substantial inflation it's very interesting I mean it we're raising prices people are raising prices to us it's being accepted Buffett has given so much great advice in the past and we talked so much about Warren Buffett and how to make money on this channel so remember before we start remember to leave a like subscribe and hit the notification Bell for more and now let's talk about how Warren Buffett and his advice in making money during an inflation we if we dropped if we dropped a million dollars of cash into every household in the United States today everybody feel very good except the people that invested in things that were denominated in dollars and you know how to profit from inflation so here's what Warren Buffett has said several Investments tend to farewell during periods of rising inflation Commodities inflation index bonds treasury inflation protected securities and consumer staples are all Investments That maintain value and generate returns throughout economic fluctuations so how is inflation measured let's start with that inflation is measured of the change in prices of goods and services it is expressed as a rate in percentage form and indicates how prices have changed from the last time it was measured it may seem counterintuitive to promote inflation but a moderate inflation rate is good for an economy because it promotes grow grow lending and borrowing the US Federal Reserve targets a 2% average inflation rate over time as most consistent with its dual mandate in promoting price stability and maximum employment so that's something you really need to keep in mind here so several agencies specifically choose the price of goods and services an influencing factors to measure the inflation rate so inflation indicators the most common economic measurements used to gouge inflation are the Consumer Price Index which is the CPI the producer price index the PPI and uh personal consumption expenditures price index now these are all things that you really need to keep in mind when we're talking about inflation okay so some of the investable assets for inflation you know could possibly be real estate so real estate is a very popular choice because it becomes a more useful and popular store of value amid inflation while generating increased rental income so you can basically get rental income just from owning let's just say an apartment complex or an apartment you know like a house or something where people are are giving you money every single month by someone living in the space that you own investors can buy real estate directly or invest in it by purchasing shares of real estate uh Investment Trust and Rit or specialized fund so real estate fared particularly well during an outbreak of persistent inflation during the 1970s but real estate is also very vulnerable to Rising interest rates and financial crisis as seen in 20072 2008 and we're actually going to get to a video you know in the future where Warren Buffett does talk about real estate potentially and there might be like a a bubble Brewing or something something is definitely happening within real estate so like uh here's the title of the article here that I have pulled up the buildings don't go away but the owners do Charlie Munger warned of a storm brewing in us real estate at his last shareholders meeting and he talks about it and we're going to talk about it on the channel also moving forward so the question you may be having is is real estate the best investment for me at this very moment during a you know during this crazy inflation period And so um we're going to be definitely talking about that in the future and in fact I actually have an a video up right now on the channel where Warren Buffett does go through you know inflation and how you can possibly making money on it now bonds investing in bonds may seem counterintuitive as inflation is typically harmful to fixed rate debt that is not the case for inflation index bonds which offer a variable interest rate tied to inflation rate in the United States Treasury inflation protected securities are a popular option Peg to the Consumer Price Index so what happens is when the CPI Rises so does the value of a tips investment so not only does the base value in increase but since the interest price is paid of the base value the interest payments increase with the base value increase so other varieties of inflation index bonds are also available including those issued by other countries as well so inflation index bonds can be assessed or access I should say in very a variety of ways so like direct invest investment um inps for instance can be made through the US Treasury or brokerage account so they are also held in some mutual funds and exchange traded funds as well so for a more Progressive aggressive play consider junk bonds potentially or high yield bonds as it's officially known tends to gain in value when inflation Rises as investors turn to the higher returns offered by this riskier than average fixed income investment so it's not exactly something I would completely recommend to be honest with you um but you know cuz like I personally would possibly turn to stocks so depending of course on which stock that you you know take a look at then that could be the best way to combat inflation so stocks have a reasonable change of chance of keeping Pace with inflation but when it comes to doing so not all equities are created equal right so that's what we just discussed for example High dividend paying stocks tend to get hammered like fixed rate Bonds in inflationary times so investors should focus on companies that pass their Rising input costs to customers such as those in the consumer staples sector so the consumer staples sector is pretty much what you have to take a look at potentially if you want to get away from inflation you know you want to kind of combat that as best as possible so again like I mentioned like it really depends on what stock you take a look at when you're trying to combat inflation this is what Warren Buffett has talked about a bunch of times in the past with certain stocks being the best to combat this pace of inflation right depending on what time period we're in so on right so look there are a bunch of ways to combat inflation obviously stocks are a big one here there are a bunch of pros and a bunch of cons so Pros could be you preserve your portfolio value forces you to diversify Holdings for preservation maintain your income's buying power now some of the cons could be it increases your exposure to risk can divert you from your long-term goals your portfolio may become overweight in some classes when you diversify and these are all things you really just have to keep in mind when you're possibly taking a look at buying the best stocks when it comes to inflation and we talk so much about about this on the channel so remember to leave a like And subscribe for a bunch more videos about that thanks so much once again for checking out this video of income views remember to subscribe if you can't subscribe I cannot continue making videos just like this one for you also remember to click the like button and also comment as to what you think of this video and what else you would like to see in terms of personal finance Warren Buffett content and so much more because we it all on this channel
