01. Hey guys, what's up? Well, in today's video we're going to talk a little bit about a guy who's a pro in the world of investing, Peter Lynch, and we're going to talk a little about some tips he gives in his book, "The Peter Lynch Way of Investing." If you liked the topic, stick with us. I'm Euclides and this is Lumina.

02. So, first of all, the book is a bestseller, with over 1 million copies sold according to the New York Times. It's a very important book for those who are starting to invest, or for those who already have a little knowledge, even for those who have more advanced knowledge. It brings a lot of information that we often end up overlooking or not paying enough attention to.

03. A very cool point that the book makes is regarding the importance of the amateur investor, and you should never lose sight of that. In fact, it brings up an important point, which is that the small investor, the amateur investor, usually has more possibilities to find companies that are not normally in the day-to-day portfolios of large funds and large investors.

04. Why? Because in your day-to-day life, the companies you manage to sell, like microcredits or nail polish, you can buy them at a super low price, well below 10, sometimes around 5. And you run around... and if you compare the company's value to its market value, the market value is usually always undervalued.

05. So you have a huge potential to profit just from selling all of that company's assets. So it brings a lot of knowledge related to this point. The book is sensational. It's about 300 pages, but it has a sensational summary for you to keep forever, which you can find on the last two pages. We'll probably break this video into two parts so we can cover all the top points he gives, all the tips for you to continue learning or become interested in the book's content, which is very important, something we have to do in our daily lives.

06. The first point, the first tip he gives in this summary, is basically that at some point we're going to have a big crisis, maybe three months. Here in three years, in 10 years we're going to have a crisis, so the point he makes, which is important for us, is to be prepared for these crises because normally in these crises come great buying opportunities, investment opportunities that will yield great appreciation, and being attentive is precisely about the ideal moment to exit.

07. In fact, the book addresses that the ideal is to exit a stock only when you start to observe that the principles of the company are changing. However, it's about some techniques to try to see the right moment to exit a company. The second tip is directly linked to the first tip, which says that market declines, that is, the falls we will have over time, are gigantic opportunities for you to buy the companies you like.

08. So let's take an example: if you like Ita, USA, and today it's at around 1260 reais, at some point when there's a crisis, it may indeed return to a level of 10, and that doesn't mean it has lost its principles or market value. It only fell because you have many people leaving the stock market, so there ends up being a lot of supply of shares, and with that, its value falls.

09. Your principles haven't changed much; normally, it should be possible to buy it much cheaper. The third tip, and it's very important for the gurus out there who try to guess and speculate in the market, is this: trying to figure out what will happen in the next two years, in the long term, is impossible.

10. In other words, you will never be able to define whether a stock will go up or down in the next two years without the company maintaining its principles. So, the point is you always need to keep monitoring your company, and the main factor is entering at the right time. You enter at the moment when a company's price is high, when you think it continues to be profitable, when it's having profitability over the years.

11. That would be the right moment, not when you already have a company whose market value is already far above the stipulated value for the company, or you're going to borrow at 50, and you're buying the stock. This means you're buying the company, which has a valued market, so at any moment it could fall and you could lose part of your assets.

12. The next tip is that we have an essential book for us, which is what you don't need. Being right all the time means you'll make mistakes. You'll buy stocks that are already expensive, and you'll end up losing part of your assets. However, the consistency of being right is what will help you. That is, always investing in two companies at the right times is what will help you maintain consistency.

13. So this concept is important because many people often fail to enter the stock market for fear of making mistakes. You will make mistakes; you will buy expensive stocks, and the important thing is that you will know over time how to fix this. You will know how to lower your average price, buying when it's falling, when there are crises.

14. You will have the profile, if you have the capital, you will have the opportunity to enter many times much cheaper. The last tip we'll cover in the video, which we 'll talk a little more about in the next video, is that the simple fact that you just bought a stock and it goes up for a week or a month doesn't mean you're right.

15. This is because in the short term, after you buy, many things can happen, and in the long term, you don't know what will happen. We don't have a crystal ball to predict everything. You hear about long-term investment being speculation, so the important thing here is not to get too excited just because a stock is going up.

16. Many times you'll buy a stock at R$10, it will go up to R$12, and even then, that's the time to keep buying slowly even as it goes up because it will still be at a low price, it's still profitable, and you're still buying at a good price. It's different from having what happens in stocks for appreciation within a month of 40 or 50 percent, and you buy at that value because for sure the market will regulate itself, right?

17. It will realize part of all that growth it had, and when it realizes, it will fall. This doesn't mean it will enter a downtrend; it means that the market goes up falling, right? It goes up realizing and goes up over time. Okay, well, those were the tips we separated from the book "The Peter Lynch Way of Investing." In the next video, we'll talk about some more important tips he gave in the book.

18. If you liked this video, leave your like, okay? Leave in the comments here the topics for the next videos, what are your questions? Okay, thanks, we're recording.
