Do you know who coined the important signature lines of the National Stock Exchange (NSE)? Those lines were, "Invest wisely." Perhaps you hear this when the NSE advertisement comes on television. The Securities Exchange Board of India ( SEBI) was born in 1992. Since then, SEBI has been trying very hard to educate investors and is still doing so.
In this series, the legendary value investor Sir Vijay Kedia has also been trying very hard since then. He coined some quotations and through those quotations, he has been educating the common man. Today, I am presenting before you that series of quotations of Sir Vijay Kedia, through which Sir explained the Indian stock market in very simple words.
So let's listen. First of all, Sir said, "Stock market is not a place for fun, it is a serious business and also, stock investing is a business, not a gamble den." Its Hindi meaning is that stock market is a serious business, it is not a gambling den, it is a place to make fun. There is no place for this.
After this Sir says that no academic degree can get you success in stock market. It means that how much education you have does not matter to be successful in stock market. You can be a chartered accountant, you can be an MBA, you can be an economist, you can be anything but the biggest problem is that if you are suddenly told that I am giving you this car and you can drive it.
You can be an engineer, you can be a doctor, you can be an expert in that field but you do not have the education required to drive the car, then can you drive the car. After this Sir says that stock market is a place to earn money in hardship. Stock market is an easy place where you can earn money very easily but after crossing a difficult path, if you remain disciplined then success will kiss your feet.
Your mental capacity is more important than your financial capacity. If money is the only skill you have in stock market, soon you will go broke. It means that if money is your only skill then you will go broke very soon. After that Sir says a very important thing. [ __ ] is more important than your KYC.
When we go to a bank or LIC or anywhere, KYC is taken from us. So KYC means Know Your Client, which is more important than this. [ __ ] is Know Yourself. You should recognize yourself. If you do not recognize yourself, then where will you invest? You should find out what is within you, what you want to do.
And here Sir considers three things necessary: Knowledge, Courage and Patience. First see if you have these three things in you. Know Yourself. Do you have the education to do business in the stock market or not? Do you have the courage or patience or not? We know that there are three types of stocks available in the stock market: Large Cap, Small Cap and Small Cap.
Sir adds one more thing to it, its name is Bhangar Cap. What is Bhangar Cap? The meaning of Bhangar is that when we go to a shop and sell the waste paper from home, then that shop is called a junk shop. Sir says this except these three caps and there is also a junk cap which is in the Indian stock market.
Out of 7000 shares, at least 6000 shares fall in the scrap cap category. Do not buy them. Large cap, mid cap and small cap avoid scrap caps. After this Sir says, once you will be right, you will earn when you are right. You will learn when you are wrong. There is two types of knowledge, internal and external.
What does internal mean? Balance sheet, return of equity, return on income, etc. and what is external? External means how is the management of the company you are investing in? Does that management have 20 to 30 years of experience or not. After this Sir says, invest a part of your savings, so save fast.
You invest a part of your savings, but save before that. After this comes another important quote from Sir, you can live a lavish young age and you can live a lavish old age. You have to make a decision if you spend lavishly in your youth. So you will have to suffer in your old age and if you are strict about spending in your youth then you can spend a comfortable old age.
Investing is so simple but not so easy because we are not disciplined. Investing is very simple but not so easy, for this you will have to bring discipline in you. Exit means when to exit from the market. We have taken it, we have invested but when will I exit from the market. In response to this, this quotation of Sir is only to predict the stock market, God and Liar.
Only two people can talk about the ups and downs of the stock market, one is God and the other is a liar. In this perspective, Sir says, don't take the lesson about literature from a history teacher, that is, don't try to understand literature from any history teacher. We do a lot of thinking, a lot of experiences, a lot of things.
We choose anyone as our guru. Do n't do that. Sir says about the market, neither it is a bull market nor it is a bear market. It is a stock market, bull and bear. We gave birth to the word, this is the stock market. This stock market progresses according to the growth of the company. Regret is a lifestyle disease of stock investing.
It means you buy a stock and then it falls. You think I made a mistake. You sell the stock and after that the price of that stock increases. You also think that the price of the share was this much, I did not buy it, then it increased so much. This is also a mistake. Remove the feeling of a mistake from your mind.
Particularly, when the question of exiting a company comes up, Sir's answer behind that question is two types of change happen in the management - change of focus of management and not changing the focus of management. At both times, you should exit that particular stock i.e. share. So what is the focus?
Suppose I sell tea and along with that I also started selling sugar. That is diversification. Is that diversification right for the company or not? Secondly, I sell scooters and I will sell only scooters and will not go outside of it. This is not changing the focus. After this Sir says, Greed is an energy when You use this greed for a good thing.
Greed is a good thing when you use it to learn, but if you become greedy without learning, you will drown. Do not follow anybody blindly. Do not follow anyone blindly. Sir, Vijay K has taken this, I will also take this. This is blind following. Sir believes in that. We already know that a thief is smarter than the police.
A thief is smarter than a policeman and that is why he is able to steal. You will have to become smarter than him so that you can catch the thief. After that Sir says that investing is a work of 24*7. Investing is a work of 2400 hours for 7 days. You have invested and forgotten, do not do this. Keep an eye on it, do research, you will have to do this the whole day.
If you can do it, you can become successful. Chase the story behind the stock, not the money on the table. Money will make you rich, but the story will make you wealthy. What does this mean? It has a very deep meaning. Do not chase a company, chase their story. Do n't look at how much money you have, money can make you rich and stories can make you wealthy, they can become your property.
After this Sir says that trading is injury to health. If you smoke, you can die by 203 years, but if you are trading, you can die the next day. This means that you should avoid trading because suppose you smoke cigarettes, you can die within 203 years, but if you trade, then the trading you did today can kill you tomorrow morning.
Your perception on reverse US is that the market can give you as much gift as you think. Better to lose money in a good company rather than making the money in a bad company. If you incur a loss by investing in a good company, that is good. In return, if you earn money by investing in a bad company, that is bad.
Because the good company in which you have incurred a loss, you should hold on and sit. One day or the other, it will return it to you, it will not only return it, it will become a multi-bagger. After this Sir says that don't trust always what you see in a bull market. The meaning of the post Looks Like a Swan is do not believe the bull market all the time because in this bull market even a small swan looks like a flamingo.
Whatever I have told till now is the method of investing in the stock market taught to us through the quotations of Sir Vijay Kedia. Today I will stop here because this is the first part of this presentation. In the next video we will discuss the remaining quotations which will be its second part because my mission is to spread the news about a valuable event of the stock market, value investing, to 10 lakh people of India.
I am trying to spread this so that after getting this news you can change your life and make yourself financiallyexpress
