Hello, welcome to this educational podcast of CNT Academy. I am Amit Tyagi. Vikas Bagadia ji is present with us. Today we will talk about the veteran stock market investor Vijay Kedia, whose net worth has crossed ₹000 crores today. Welcome Vikas ji. Greeting sir. We want to inform all our viewers that now we will be bringing you such podcasts every day on CAT Academy in this series.

Vikas ji talks about Vijay Kedia, whose childhood was spent in great poverty and after travelling from Kolkata to Mumbai, Vijay Kedia invented investing in the stock market and value buying or big fishing. Due to which today he is included among the famous investors of the country. Vikas ji, please tell us something about the initial struggle of Vijay Kedia and the initial work of Vijay Kedia.

Look, first of all, to start with, I would like to tell you that if you are from the middle class and you want to make a big name in the stock market, then the journey of Vijay Kedia Sahab is a blueprint for you. It is a great treasure of knowledge for you. As much as I because he is from Bhik. I am from beggar.

So I know that he belongs to a middle class family. At the age of 17, he heard about stocks and was fascinated by the world of markets. This was the time when he entered the stock market and perhaps at this time he also did his first trading. But as it happens with a new investor, the market is always hard, meaning learning becomes very hard and he kept on making losses again and again.

Whenever he felt that things were going in his favor, he would incur a loss somewhere. So Kiya ji himself says today that failure is the first tuition fee you pay to the stock market. Yes, so see what happened, there were five to six people in his family and they all lived in the same room. That means, when he was in class 10th, his father probably lost control over him.

But he never gave up. Even after repeated failures in the stock market, he felt unsure of what to do. Then he thought that if I want to do it in the market then I will have to go to Mumbai. I came to Mumbai but Mumbai is like a new share, a new struggle, no support. But still, the passion to be successful in the stock market, the discipline, market study during the day, charts at night and no entertainment, no distraction.

The approach he had towards the market was completely disciplined and full of fluidity, so look at that, he had said one or two lines from his experience, not from a dictionary or from the dictionary of his experience, I will try to tell you that too that spend time with the market, the market will make you its own, this was said by Kedia ji and now it is understood that he had said this because he spent time with the market, that is why today the market has made him its own, so after that see, after a lot of struggle, in the 1990s, then he caught multibaggers.

These are multibagger stocks which can do big. Some of the names that were included in his portfolio at that time were Atul Auto AG, AG Logistics, Sera to Senior APS, Apollo Vaibhav Global. So what Kedia ji did, as he still says, if you identify the ride business and buy the right management, then sit comfortably and peacefully, it will definitely reward you somewhere in the market.

Yes Vikas ji, we have heard many such stories that Vijay Kedia ji was from a lower middle income group family and many times such a situation arose that he was asked to bring milk for his child but he did not have money and he could not bring milk. Perhaps this is why Vijay Kedia ji keeps a low profile and even after being the biggest figure in the country as a value investor today, you would never have seen Vijay Kedia ji spending lavishly or such stories about him never come to light.

What is the reason behind this? Look, first of all, if I tell you something, Vijay ji always keeps a low profile and this is his speciality. And I definitely have never met him. But if I tell you, the songs that he releases in the market many times are a great pleasure to listen to. And believe that he is a down to earth personality.

All those who met him and who talked about him say that he is a down to earth personality. He is a very lively person and he does not have even an iota of pride even after earning from this market. In many interviews of Vikas ji Vijay Kedia ji, he told that the right way to choose a multibagger is that you should get basic information about the working of the company and the information related to it and Vijay Kedia ji many times physically visits the office of that company before investing in its shares.

What do you say about this ? Look sir, this is absolutely correct. And Peter Lunch sir had also said that whatever business you try to own, look at its ground reality. Watch their ground report. I'll give two examples from my experience with this. I have little experience. But I will try to share with you that I attended two AGMs.

One time I went to Vadilal's AGM and the other time I went to Dr. Moorpan's AGM. I am talking to you about this from the year 2013, before 2013, one of our friends, who is a journalist, had taken us there, so when the AGM of Vadilal was held, all their distributors and sub- distributors had come and they were very happy, so during such conversations, our journalist friend asked why are you so happy brother, he said the company has launched so many products that our profit margin has increased, so when we looked further, Vadilal's share was running at around ₹300-400 and today Vadilal's share has emerged as a multibagger.

The second experience was that the franchise owners and distributors of Doctor Morepen Labs had come or we can say the medical representatives who had come had a lot of animosity towards the management. Everyone was saying that we are telling this and that to the management. Management does not listen.

This one doesn't do this, that one doesn't do that. And definitely after that, the shares of Manage Morpan Leps saw a huge decline and it probably even became a penny stock in between. So this approach of Kedia sahab is very good that do not look at the Lewis figures, do not look at the balance sheets, look at the ground reality that what the company is doing and whether the company is actually in the real figures as per the books or not and after talking to the management of the company, try to estimate its business profit and revenue in the future and after that invest in its shares.

Yes, see, the biggest problem of us middle class traders and investors is small thinking or I can say not small thinking, they get distracted by noise, like the owner of Motilal Oswal sir also says, Ramdev Agarwal ji also says buy right seat tight right, so if you go to the right management whose management vision is good, whose goals are good, whose planning is good, then execution will happen and definitely it will happen.

You need confidence plus discipline plus study. Only when you combine these three things will you get the mantra of success in the market. Yes Vikas ji, recently Vijay Kedia ji had invested in the shares of a company named Om Infra. Ah, I mean to say recently, I think it has been 2 years since this happened and as soon as the news came out that Vijay Kedia ji has invested in Om Infra, its shares suddenly started registering a rise.

There was a huge rise and many people who wanted to invest following the footsteps of Vijay Kedia ji were not able to buy shares of Om Infra. About a month or a month and a half after the news came out, when the stock stabilized one day, many people we knew invested in it. So, does choosing a multibagger and holding on to it have a huge significance in Vijay Kedia's ₹2000 crore success story ?

A definitely see what happens is that the psychology of a retail trader is that he looks at the loss completely and cuts the profit quickly. Okay, so that's where we have to change our psychology or change our thinking. What is understood from the journey of KDA sir is that whatever stocks he included in the multibagger list, he took them when the bull run started or when after talking to the management of the company and looking at its balance sheets, he felt that this company has potential, but he stayed away from the noise of the market.

He was not affected by the ups and downs in the market. Because he knows he knows that I have taken a fundamentally good strong company. And definitely somewhere in the back of his mind he must have been thinking about when to exit and what to do. So that's why I keep saying plan your trade then trade your plan.

We are leaving, okay Vikas ji. I think it's time to end this podcast. Our viewers of Chart and Trade Academy are requested to like and share this effort of ours if you like it. Share it with your friends and family and let us know in the comments below how you liked this podcast and which big name in the stock market or business world you would like to know in detail about in the coming days. Hello, Jai Hind. Thank you.
