I want to know your thoughts on these smaller maybe call them neoclouds the applied digitals and the iron and nebius is another one where they're building out this space and spending tons of money just like the hyperscalers. How well do you think those kinds of stocks are going to do? I think they're a key part of this whole trade like if you look at Nebus which you know we've been a huge fan of.
If you look at what's happening, you know, Corewave and others, I I think they're going to play I would argue that they're going to play an increasingly more important role in terms of the AI buildout in terms of what we see from those. But look, like it's going to take a lot of money. It's going to take patience.
But I think when you saw especially those last quarter Nebby as core weave I know those are like inflection type quarters. So when you talk about patience it makes me think of how every company is saying we're using AI you know in their grocery companies everything. Um how how do you break down like what's a real company that's using AI and it's going to help them and what's one that's behind the boat when you try and look at the landscape.
Is there is there an indicator that you can sus out which one's doing it well? Yeah, I think look I think right now like a lot of the true use cases they're happening in like financial services. We're seeing a lot in like government, military and then you're starting to see a bunch in healthcare. A lot of it comes down to like let's take in retail like you could argue retail has been maybe like behind when it comes to AI.
Maybe like a Walmart has been slightly ahead relative to to competitors. So the use cases are just starting to happen on the enterprise but they're real and Palunteer may being the first now you saw snowflake and then you'll see what I believe will be service now sell like others will are going to participate but it's going to take time for the use cases to play out and for these companies they're going to have to spend a lot of money but it's board edicts Because if you don't spend, it might feel good at the time, but I think you get you get left behind.
The use cases for AI too. This is a little bit off course, but talking about um sovereign AI and data. I I'm so curious if you think that the uh monetization of data and like actually uh paying AI models to get your data is going to be um an actual part of the market in the future. Right now there's several companies out there, very small companies that are trying to do that.
Do you think that that idea has potential of monetizing information for AI models? I think it's like it's actually um a big debate point in terms of like the models versus sovereign AI because if you think about like the last like few years companies are just we got we need an AI. It's kind of like drinking out of fire hose.
Now they're starting to understand, okay, our data, we want control of our data. The model players, they obviously want access to that data. But that's also why Amazon shut down Muse, you know, in terms like that because Amazon's like, hey, they don't like they don't like who knows what their initiatives are going to be in the future.
So, there's going to be a lot of that that's going on. Speaking of AI companies, SpaceX is really an AI company. I know you have uh a pretty strong opinion of what's going to happen with SpaceX and Tesla uh in the future, and I wanted to hear what you think about that. I mean, my view is the value is all going to be about the data.
So, when it comes to like Musk, it's building the ecosystem. I believe there's over an 80% chance that Tesla and SpaceX merge by the end of 2027 because it's it's a data play and I think that's really the golden vision for M is to have that all under one hood and the data you mean the data that Tesla has from self-driving and you want to get that over to XAI.
Well, because even like a lot the cross-pollination that happens, the algorithms, the you know the the level of data, if you think about anthropic and open AI are here, the only way that Grock or narrows the gap is data. I mean, it's a it's a data race. And I just think for Musk when you think about space, space at one point is really going to be more it's going to be about a data play.
So when it comes to SpaceX for investors, I think what they want to know is where are we at in that timeline? So SpaceX just launched. The price of the stock's been all over the place. But if you're looking at investing in SpaceX today, what kind of timeline for actually paying off for investors for the transformational names if you especially as they go through like lockups and all the you can't just look at them over the course of like 3 months, 6 months time.
I mean to me like SpaceX, it's really important in terms of what's happening not just on the launch side but what's happening on Starlink. It's very important that you start seeing monetization from a data perspective and I think look I think SpaceX is one like now that you like just give an IPO of that size you've gone through the lockup now it's really executing and it's hitting targets but look as someone that's been such a big believer in Tesla if you just focused you know let's say 2017 2018 18, you would have thought the Tesla story was dead, but it was actually just beginning.
I think SpaceX, you're going to have a lot of sort of es and flows, but I think it's going to take a few years for them to like to really prove out the thesis. I think that execution piece I wanted to ask just go back to Tesla because you've been bullish for so long on them. Do you have any concerns about the execution of Optimus for Tesla?
Well, they're look they're almost like caught between two worlds as a you know a disruptive car maker to robo taxi optimist autonomous that and I think that's why the stock's kind of been like stuck in the mud because the robo taxi ramp has been slower than expected. they're spending but as opposed to maybe Meta where you actually see the monetization on M Tesla you haven't seen it it's like a 6 to9 month prove it that they're going to need to ultimately show especially when it comes like robo taxi launch the autonomous vision playing out and that's a it's going to be a super important period but I'm optimistic that they're going to be able to do that speaking Speaking of these sort of new products that get in customers hands, Apple's kind of doing a bit of a pivot.
New products, new CEO, uh product focus CEO, but they're taking a very different approach to AI than anyone else. Like where does Apple fit in this new ecosystem? Look, I think Apple, they definitely went through a few years of like trial and error that didn't work, you know, relative to either building their own or some of the partnerships.
they finally have a viable AI strategy that's actually happened. But for Apple, like with 1.5 billion iPhones, 2.5 billion iOS devices, you could be wait but with an install base like that, that's the ability to monitor. So I just think now from a device perspective, like look, foldable, that's not necessarily moving the needle.
I think it's obviously it's it's innovative, but the big thing for Apple is going to be like 20th anniversary iPhone 2027, an AI enabled device, Turnis being a hardware guy, what that innovation ultimately looks like from a hardware perspective, but Turners will be judged on how successful they are with AI.
