oh I will oh isn't this great all the Bitcoin only a nickel - Wow well there's Bert hey Bert come here I want to show you something hey oh no I dropped my Bitcoin but it was sad Ernie I just lost it you lost what'd you were gonna show me something you couldn't lost it right away couldn't have vanished into thin air yes it could Bert it could no the vid coin itself is not the technology it could be the reward but you don't need Bitcoin to have a blockchain there are all these other crypto currencies that have block chains and they don't use Bitcoin and you can use block chains for anything I mean well the later airline puts their frequent fire Nick what about the feather consensus the log jam black chain is the only one that large is the largest blood sugar is the only one that matters the one that does the most no it doesn't the most people that write is the one that's most trustworthy yeah the Samoyed you can have a blockchain in your pocket and not have an outfit since what a model or algorithm work and meanings you don't have any miners and you don't have any consensus it doesn't mean anything it's just a really really slow data but what and that's what it is but what is what is the value what is the inherent value of a Bitcoin what is what can you do with a Bitcoin to make it worth seventeen thousand dollars if I have one Bitcoin look what can I use it for what can I do with it where I derive seventeen thousand dollars worth of value well you seem to misunderstand and a lot of people do and the people who don't let us understand actually buy it the reality is Bitcoin as the technology Satoshi's there's a hundred million Satoshi's perb no it's not again so what is what can I do it with my Bitcoin there's a hydrogen technologies you can buy anything as a matter of fact yeah I could buy gold at a discount I go to packs Volcom and I can buy gold at at this guy go buy gold at six ten percent off with Bitcoin no you have to sell the Bitcoin you have to sell your Bitcoin credit card all no so we need to go back to real money now do I think bitcoin is real money no I don't all right I'd it doesn't satisfy to me the definitions of money what money needs to be it doesn't have any intrinsic value on its own and it doesn't you can't do anything with a Bitcoin right you can do something with gold gold has a value unique to itself but does Bitcoin still have a value well bitcoins value is only in your ability to spend it that somebody will accept it so it doesn't have any more value than euros or pounds or dollars in fact it actually has less because I can pay my income taxes and dollars you know the US government requires me to pay income taxes in dollars so there's a need for dollars I need dollars even if I'm living on the gold standard personally even if I'm transacting all my business and gold I still have to buy dollars to pay my taxes the parties are competing with each other for reputation in the marketplace and they're not gonna blow that reputation if they want to preserve its value I mean we're where I see a complete leaf of faith and Trust is people who want to put their trust in in Bitcoin something that doesn't even really exist and you're gonna you're gonna have trust in that that it's gonna maintain some value you have to trust this network you have to trust miners who you've never met you have to trust all these whales and you have no idea what their hidden agendas are all you're trusting is you're trusting a piece of software right trusting an algorithm no no I'm not even trusting that I'm trusting that this digital creation out of nothing just string of numbers write letters or numbers right no it's not to software I don't get the software I just get the string in numbers that somehow somebody in the future is actually going to want that and be willing to pay me money for that I mean that's what you're trusting this talk about trust for a second Peter you're talking about trust and you're talking about trust of third-party service providers and we know from history that where is this is a capitalistic society and that there has been there have been some breaches of trust by even the most reputable service writers and let's talk about the trust in the Bitcoin network and how it actually works yes so what I was getting out with the questions is you're trusting a third party right and and there's a way again that's for the part of my goal that I keep with gold money I have gold in my safe I mean this this gold that's in my pocket I'm not trusting anybody I have it on me it's in my possession and a lot and most people keep most of their gold in their own safes and they're not trusting a third party because they own the gold themselves yep sweet
