Traders, we've got a fresh new week ahead of us, and the markets are up. Let's take a look at the S&P 500 ETF. We're up 0.18 percent from last Friday's close. Last Friday's session, we had a big gap-down, over 300 red, and the market rallied for a little bit and closed almost at 301. Look at the daily chart here, the picture of power. June was great, it just climbed higher, and July is just as good. It's a consecutive climb higher. We're over 300 now, at 301, but we have no volume in the markets. Volume is extremely low because everybody's on vacation, and a lot of algorithmic machines are running the markets right now.
Morning Movers
Let's take a look at what's on the move this morning. GLP is up over 18 percent, with over 200,000 traded pre-market, so that's in play. CCI, this stock is up over one percent with over 600,000 traded pre-market, so that's in play this morning. SYMC is up almost two percent with almost 200,000 traded pre-market, so that stock's in play. TSLA, this thing made a nice recovery this past month. We're up almost a point and a half pre-market on over 100,000 traded, so that stock's in play. Tesla Trade
So let's get to TSLA. We're going to take this for a long ride here. At the pit, we can get hit. All right, we got a hundred shares filled at 246.75. Looks great for a long. If you look at the daily chart, this thing has been trending up nicely the past month and a half or so, and it's in a consolidation range, then it drops. But now it looks ready to climb back up to the top. So we're going to see if we can at least get it up to 247.25 to 247.5. The stop-loss will be below 246.25, but we'll trade it according to the market. The market's down a little bit, so we'll see what it looks like. It's going to draw up here, but it's looking a little weak, so I'm going to try to take this at the ask if we can get hit. All right, we're out. We're out of NVDA for close to a 37-cent win on it. The market's looking very weak, so I'm thinking I'd better get out before this thing turns around and drops. I'll take that, close to 30 cents.
Afternoon Session: NVDA
Traders, we're back. We had left for a little bit and took one trade on TSLA early this morning, but then we had to leave. We're back for the afternoon session. The markets are dead, but we're looking at NVDA here, and we're going to take this at the bid for a long, if we can get in on this dip and pick it up on the bid. I think this thing has dropped enough and it's trending up pretty strongly, so I think this is a good dip here. Markets are climbing, I just need to get in at the bid. All right, we're in NVDA at 166.40. The chart looks good, it's been trending up the past few sessions really hard, and we're right back up to the top after this big drop. So I think this sucker wants to climb a little higher. The only problem is this stock has a lot of baggage. Look at all that baggage. But it has been trending up, it's a big stock, and it can easily go right back up to 300 intraday. It opens with a gap up, then sells off, sells off right into this chop area for a little while in the afternoon, then drops some more. Now I think it's dropped enough, and I think this dip is going to get bought, because you can see over here the markets are starting to climb for the afternoon session. More than likely this dip is going to get bought. But the markets are slow, volume is down big time, so we're probably going to ride this one for a bit. The stop-loss on this will be below 160.75, and the target I like is over 167. It's possible it's an afternoon trade, so I'm not really comfortable trading the afternoon because it's really slow. NVDA is looking good here. It consolidated down here for a while. There are probably a lot of shorts that accumulated here, and when it didn't drop, those shorts are going to cover. If you look at the market here, as soon as 1:30 came around, boom, it started waking up a little bit. So I think we can probably ride this up to 167, unless the market turns drastically. It looks good. I was actually thinking that if it dropped a bit more, I'd pick up another 150 shares, but it never dropped. So I'd like to at least try to get it up to 167. But if I see the market getting weak here, I'm just going to come out of this NVDA. That's about 36 cents. Look at the S&P 500 ETF here. It's time to put in a big red candle. Yes, it's just really slow. I think that's going to do it for me today. I don't see markets climbing, and it's been really slow and hard to trade, because it doesn't have the regular motion it has during a normal market session, at least to me. So it's hard. That's going to be it for us today. We took one trade in the morning and another in the afternoon, a very slow afternoon, so we're just going to keep the green here. We're up 91 with two trades, both winning trades.
