Can you tell us about what are the how this fisher investment built on what are the core principles of the fisher investments? So reverting to what I was saying a few moments ago the key is always what people expect now versus what will really occur. There's also a very long history going back to the days when people thought the earth was flat of people assuming things are a certain way when they really aren't.
And so if you can learn better how things work than people think they do, you have an edge. And we've tried to deploy that in two major ways. One of them is there's a very wide category of things where people believe this thing causes that thing. And where we see those, we try to use statistics to see is it really true or not.
And much more often than you would suspect, it's not true at all. So then when you see that thing happening, you know people will bet on that other thing happening, but you can bet against it because you know it's not causal. That's one of the two types and we have a long laundry list of those which over time I would like to expose to people in carnitaka through the newspaper.
But then the other is nobody knows that this thing like this causes that thing and when you see it happen you can go directly to bet on that thing and we've just built up an arsenal of those and that is the core of what we are doing all of the time from a top-down global basis. So if you look at some of the things that are in my public record, for years we were promoting tech stocks and big tech stocks, but last year at the beginning of 2025, we're promoting non US stocks and value stocks and have been since then.
There's reasons driving that that always come back to something where this causes that that people don't understand that leads to current expectations being different than future realities. Can can you recall some of your childhood memories when really you have developed interest in financial matters?
That is something curious to I also wanted to know and even public also you know if you think about my life I had a big advantage that I think many people have and others don't which is I was the youngest child in my family as the youngest child in my family of a family of all boys. My older brothers were bigger, stronger, smarter, literally.
So, anything I wanted that they wanted, I lost. From when I was very young, I had to figure out what was good that they didn't want. And all of my life, [snorts] I've known that I'm up against a bigger, more powerful power. And there is almost no power more powerful than the totality of capital markets.
And I have to figure out what it is they don't want. So that part has led me to value things that maybe others don't. That part keeps you from buying things that are too expensive and it keeps you seeking the value in things that others don't see.
