A man who had neither big connections nor crores of rupees. He had only ₹5000 and a fire in his pocket. He built a billion dollar empire with just one idea. This is the story of a middle class boy who became India 's Warren Buffett. Mr. Rakesh Jhunjhunwala was born on 5 July 1960 in Mumbai. Where his father was an Income Tax Officer.

Rakesh was interested in the stock market since childhood. When his father and his friends used to talk about the stock market, Rakesh would ask them questions out of curiosity and at that time he was only 11 years old. Normally he used to ask why there are fluctuations in the stock market? His father used to answer every question in detail.

Rakesh Jhunjhunwala graduated from Siddique Enham College, Mumbai. After completing CA in 1985, he told his father that he wanted to make his career in the stock market. On this his father said some important things which were very helpful in his career. He said do only that work which you like. Do n't go to any of my friends to ask for money.

And most importantly, don't be afraid. In those days Rakesh had only ₹5000. His brother was also a CA who had a lady client who had good capital and wanted high returns. At that time bank deposits gave only 10% returns. Rakesh promised the lady that he would give her 18% annual return. Because of this the lady gave him Rs 2.5 lakh.

Apart from that, he received another ₹5 lakh from someone else. In this way his initial capital was prepared. At the beginning of his career, he started with trading and earned a profit of Rs 10 lakh. Then in 1988 he bought ₹500 shares of Sesa Goa at ₹28 and after 6 months the shares of Sesa Goa reached ₹65.

In 1989, Mr. Madhu Dhanwati became the Finance Minister in the VP Singh government and his 1989 Union Budget became the turning point in Rakesh Jhunjhunwala's career. From small investors to big market players, everyone felt that this budget would be against business and would focus more on social issues.

But Rakesh felt that VP Singh was a smart businessman and he would not bring a budget that would hurt the business and on the day of the budget, exactly what Rakesh had thought happened. Mr. Madhu Dhanwati presented a budget that was business friendly. Before the budget, Rakesh Jhunjhunwala's net worth was Rs 2 crore.

But after 5 months of the budget it became Rs 50 crore. He then started Rare Enterprises, an asset management firm where he manages his own portfolio. The R.A. of Rare is from the first two letters of his name and R.E. is taken from the name of his wife Rekhia. In 2002, he bought shares of Titan Company, which is a jewellery brand.

At an average price of just 4.5. Titan's share went up to 80 and then fell to 30. When Titan fell to ₹30, Rakesh's portfolio fell to ₹300 crore. But he did not sell his shares because he was confident that Titan would grow further. Today the share price of Titan is around ₹400. This teaches us that an investor should be patient.

Takish showed passion not only in Titan but also in many other investments. In 2005, he sold his CRISIL shares for ₹27 crore and bought an apartment in Malbar Hill, Mumbai. Later he sold that apartment at a good price. Rakesh says that if he had not sold CRISIL shares at that time, their value would have been Rs 800 crore today.

But Rakesh never regrets his mistakes but learns from them. He believes that the best way to learn investing is through experience, and experience comes from mistakes. According to them, the market is supreme. It is never right or wrong. A person is right or wrong. If you make a mistake, accept it. Learn and move on.

If you never admit your mistakes, you will never learn. Rakesh Jhunjhunwala is considered a long term investor. But he has also been an active trader. He started his career with trading. Due to which his capital base became strong. He identified several multibagger stocks like Chrysler, Paj Industries, LPI, Titan which gave him excellent returns.

He never gets emotionally attached to any stock. He also teaches others to buy every stock to sell it. If you see potential in a stock, hold it for the long term. Rakesh Jhunjhunwala became a stock market investor not because he wanted to create wealth someday but because he was passionate about this field and loved doing it.

According to him, investing is the best profession in the world. Today he is also a movie producer. He has produced movies like English Vinglish, Shamitaab Ki & Ka. He is also called the Warren Buffett of India and is known as the biggest stock market investor in India. According to Forbes 2017, he was the 63rd richest person in India.

His net worth was $2.2 billion or around ₹15,000 crore. On his 60th birthday, July 5, 2020, he decided to donate 25% of his wealth to charity. So friends, that's all for today. I will be waiting for your loving comments and likes. So see you in the next video.
