Tom Lee stated on CNBC that 2027 could be one of the biggest stock market booms of our lifetimes. I'm not going to tell you whether he's right, but I want to show you exactly what needs to happen for this prediction to come true, and whether your portfolio is ready for what's coming. A 2027 bull market is not a prediction I can make, but there is a way to set up your portfolio to benefit without destroying it if it doesn't happen, and I'll show you how .

So, let's get down to business. Tom Lee is a managing partner at Fundstrat, has 25 years of experience in equity analysis, and is a former strategist at JPMorgan Chase; He has been right in his predictions of market direction more often than most people, and his 2027 forecast is based on four specific structural arguments.

US economic growth, potentially reaching 4%—for the world's largest economy, such acceleration is unusual and has historically been associated with very high stock returns. The US, as the dominant exporter of AI, which is certainly the most valuable product in recent decades, is generating stable capital inflows, and the profits of American technology companies will be a powerful driver.

Capital, currently inefficiently allocated in private equity funds , is flowing into open markets, and it is this structure that will accelerate profitability. As millennials and Gen Z begin to enter their most profitable years and inherit generational wealth at unprecedented levels, demographic demand will be a tailwind for stocks that could last for decades.

Lee raised his 2027 S&P 500 earnings forecast to $400 per share, up from $350 earlier this year. With a P /E multiple of 22, this means the S&P 500 index is above 8,800 points. Morgan Stanley predicts a level of 8,000 points by the end of 2026. This "bullish " forecast from institutional investors is not just an isolated opinion, but something that could become a reality.

But here's what most headlines don't say . In the same interview where Lee called 2027 a time of “generational rally,” he warned that in the period before that, we could see something that will more closely resemble a “ bear” market. Not in July, but they are predicting it for the period between August and October.

He estimates the overall market pullback to be between 10-20%. There are two main triggers here . The first is new Fed Chairman Kevin Warsh , his approach to inflation, and what exactly that will look like. And the second is SpaceX, which has a lock-up period for most of its shares expiring within the next 6 months.

The release of these shares into free float could create a technical tailwind , or in this case, a serious drag on their value. Short-term pain and long-term gain are contained in the same forecast. Investors who sell during the August and October declines will miss the opportunity and may miss the 2027 rally that follows.

You can't separate them. This is the main goal of maintaining the portfolio and the structure we built on this channel, to survive the middle phase without making mistake number three—selling during a market decline. Four specific things need to become a reality for Lee's prediction to truly come true, and these are what I will be watching for over the next 6-12 months.

Number one: AI revenue should continue to grow. When we see ZER at 123% and AWS's fastest growth in 18 quarters, it confirms the theses we discussed; The second quarter's performance needs to hold up in the third and fourth quarters to maintain this pace. If AI revenue growth slows, then Lee's forecast of $400 per share earnings by 2027 will not come true, nor will the widening of multipliers needed to support the rally.

Now number two: the new Fed should not overly tighten policy. Kevin Warsh has different theories about inflation than we have seen before and from his predecessors; if his approach leads to a strengthening at a vulnerable moment, the 22 P/E multiple that Lee talked about could shrink very quickly . Stability or reduction in rates is a 60 % chance of success in achieving the 2027 target .

Number three: Iran should not cause a supply shock, as we have already seen in the case of oil. Lee bluntly calls this the main bearish scenario we could see. The March 2026 Cosby crash clearly shows what the threat in the Strait of Hormuz does to global markets in a very short time. This is not a probability forecast.

This is actually monitoring what is happening in that region. And the fourth and final point: the behavioral response to a market decline remains correct. Investors who bought and held assets from August to October 2026 may truly appreciate the profits in 2027. Those who will not sell their assets. When we look at the five Thursday habits, especially the third one, this portfolio and its management—this is exactly the scenario we're in.

So, how is my portfolio positioned? 30% of it is directed to SPMO. This is the most direct way to implement a bullish scenario. When we consider momentum strategies, we mechanically refocus on assets with the strongest returns. In an AI-driven environment, this will of course accelerate as we see growth.

This means the same technologies, the same semiconductors, around which this portfolio is already built. So, if a pullback occurs, SPMO will be in the most unstable position . It's a trade-off for being my biggest investment. We look at VOO—20%, QQQM —20%. This is 40% of the portfolio underlying the broad market, covering the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100, regardless of which sectors are leading.

If the predictions at the level of 8000–8800 come true, this means some pullback, but also growth in 2026 and 2027 . These two positions will take the majority because they have very low expense ratios, no complexity, almost zero commissions, simply capturing the market. Next, we move on to SMH at 15%.

This is my strongest sector bet based on AI, which I believe will be the driver of the next 10–20 years. Nvidia, TSMC, Broadcom—these are the “ shovels and picks” that are the most important earnings story right now, amid the growth of data centers, AI, and the development of quantum computing. It's surprising, but we confirmed it again during the tech giants' reporting on Thursday, and they are showing incredible results.

Then, of course, we have a 5% “anchor” in the form of SCHD, which pays dividends in both scenarios—both when the market is rising and falling. If the pullback continues, the dividend rally will continue capitalization, allowing assets to be purchased at a much lower price. SCHD does not need forecasts to remain in the portfolio.

It has its rightful place, and therein lies the value of such a structure. So what exactly do I do with my portfolio? I make contributions on schedule, regardless of what happens before October. I do not increase positions in anticipation of a possible pullback. Capital is better used during a pullback, but I also don't cut positions because of Lee's warning.

Rollback may not happen at all. That's why we track all four conditions that I shared in this video. Right now, the only thing I'm considering but haven't done yet is to keep a little more cash than usual . Just in case we see a decline or a slight decline in prices in October, so that I have the opportunity to invest these funds if Lee's chart turns out to be correct .

This is not about trying to guess the perfect moment in the market. It's about realistically factoring in the forecast of a possible recession, which gives me additional options. This ensures that in the event of a drop, I will not just be able to watch my account melt away, but will be able to buy by investing additional capital.

Here is the full picture. Lee's prediction for 2027 is based on four structural arguments that are logical individually, but together are very powerful. This portfolio was formed long before that forecast and was already prepared for future events. Not because it's a prediction, but because I believe: theses on AI infrastructure, a broad market base through ETFs, and developed behavioral discipline—these are exactly the conditions that will lead us forward and ensure growth until 2027.

The closest test will be the period from August to October. If you hold on throughout this time and continue to invest, it will set you up perfectly for 2027 if the market rally does indeed occur. A gradual market rise without a major correction could mean that portfolios will simply continue to grow, and Lee's forecast will prove somewhat inaccurate.

It is necessary that the basic conditions are maintained and the costs of AI remain the same— these conditions have been embedded in my portfolio from day one. So guys, leave your comments below. Do you think Tom Lee's prediction for 2027 is accurate? Which of the four conditions do you think are most at risk?

I want to hear the full spectrum of opinions: from both bulls and bears. I read every response you leave below. I answer them all . If I gave you a clearer idea of how to prepare your portfolio for 2027, it would make a big difference. I post a video every weekday, see you in the next issue.
