Uh, next one is Oh, give me a second. Uh, AI in real versus hype by the end. So. What AI has done is it has re-empowered the head of technology in every business in the United States and it has pushed budgetary resources into the hands of of the chief technology officer. So, what you're seeing across American business is actually the impact of American businesses spending more on digitization writ large, of which AI is just one component.

Yep. It's one component, but it's the it in some sense it's the cover story that creates the space for American companies to really embrace technology in a much more profound way. I was in I was in China about a year and a half ago with a group of prominent global executives. Whole China again. And they were all talking about how AI was changing their business.

It was so fun. And I said, let's go around the table and let's each share a story as to how we're using AI to make our business better. I heard five or six great stories. Not one involved generative AI. But does that mean that the [clears throat] the productivity boost from generative AI is still to come?

How quickly will it come and how big will it be? I mean, are you in the camp that, you know, as Dario Amodei says, you know, half of all entry-level white-collar jobs will, you know, be gone in the next 5 years? Is it that kind of change or is it more Look, you know, put yourself in his shoes. How much money does the AI community need to raise over the next 5 years?

A lot. Right? Data center spend in the United States this year, over half a trillion dollars. Like over 500 billion dollars, okay? You're not going to generate this kind of spend unless you're going to make a promise you're going to profoundly change the world. So, is it hype? Mhm. Of course. Very true.

AI will look for Like how else are you going to get people to write 500 billion dollars of checks just this year alone? Very true. Right? There needs to be a level of like Yep. AI is your savior. Yeah. So, so there there's like, you know, nowadays there's a um like ongoing meme thing. Hey, if you're still watching, make sure to give us a like, share, and subscribe.

that you want to raise money and you say you show like a realistic uh application of like automation project or something and it's less likely funded and you're throwing oh, we're using AI. Using AI for it. And they're just throwing money at it, right? So, And and my projections are 10 times higher than what my initial thought was.

Yeah. And yeah, you say like, you know, instead of like, you know, we just maybe few hundred thousand, it's going to be 5 million dollars now. Oh, but he's using AI, right? Yes, we're using AI physical AI, we're using the other, you know, all the AIs and all of a sudden it's approved. I mean, it is it is a hype to some like is Okay, my question is so, do people who are or actually want to implement it or think, you know, do they do not understand the AI or what AI is or is that something intentionally uh misleading almost?

Yeah. It's it's it's like crypto, right? Yeah, yeah. Initially crypto came in, people were buying pizza with it, right? I know a person who spent 20 20 whatever Bitcoins to buy a pizza. And now that 20 Bitcoin been, I don't know, whatever it is right now, right? So, is that what this is? I don't I'm not sure.

I mean, I think if you look at it from his perspective and you guys know my opinion, I think there's going to be massive job loss and cuts coming up in the future, but it does bring up a valid point of when you go to for funding, hey, we need to to sell this thing and I'm not going to be able to sell it like you said, if if we're not promising we're changing the world, um they're not going to get investors.

So, I I get that part of it, but I do see, you know, I'm definitely not in that boat. I think in the next 5 years we're going to see massive massive change in the job market. I think definitely there will be change. Um, but my my just um concern is is there a lack of understanding what AI actually is.

Um, I agree I agree and I think Well, to be perfectly honest with you, yes. But only one's going to recognize it is people are kind of experts in the field. Outside of that, like for example let's go automotive or cars, people who are car guys. You know, there people who love muscle cars understand that realm very well and versus, you know, what type of gears they need to have.

Like for example, if somebody wants to create a muscle car need to beef up the transmission, need to beef up the axle. You need to have, you know, stronger, you know, I guess you say gear manufacturing parts. Otherwise, you're going to if you try doing it if you only beef up, for example, the transmission, then you it's going to uh bust out like for example Here's one I remember uh a buddy of mine, his his dad, they would race cars all the time and this was back in the '70s.

He goes, they used to weld the transmission to the frame. Mhm. Mhm. Because there was so much torque, it would just it just pop right off. Yeah. And it's and he goes, it still would come off. Yeah. Obviously, we don't have those vehicles anymore. Right. But I but I think almost this AI term, I guess would be something close to what we saw 15 20 years ago with the term like machine learning, right?

There's lots of machine learning and everything that came out was machine learning this, machine learning that and like some of those terms now have almost kind of rolled just into AI when when as we've discussed, a lot of the stuff's just machine learning. It's it's not really doing anything AI. Yeah.

Um, but it's almost like that term because now we used to put machine learning on everything, now we just kind of throw on that that AI term. Yeah. So, that's that's where you know, I I seen customers ask us when we're trying to, you know, when we propose our technology and whatnot, they're like, you know, does your robot have AI?

Um I'm like, my question is it's not a matter of yes or no, it's like what do you need that AI for? To do. Yeah, yeah. What's And they don't even know. They just want to know if it's in there. Yeah, it's AI capable. Yeah. What what was the challenge you trying to uh overcome with that AI? Yeah. So, the question I think the question should be is it's not a matter of is there AI or not?

It's it's not like a unicorn, it's real. AI is real. Uh, but it depends on what application you trying to use it for. Yeah. So, I got a question for you guys. Uh-huh. So, with Griffin's statement right there what do you guys believe the real economic value of AI is? I [clears throat] think to the previous point, it it does it does take less resources to do the task that basically inputting data in, inputting lot of those uh you know, uh where manual work or

jobs. Yeah, well, I I I look at it as it's a tool. It's definitely it's it's a tool that you can use. You can pull in data from, I don't know, let's pick on areas where expertise in assembly lines. Uh, you bring in all the data, you know, the cycle time to each station. Okay, you pull that data into the AI.

Okay, tell me which line it has the longest cycle time. Uh, out of the 100 stations, station 57 is the worst one. But but you don't need AI to do that. Well, You don't need AI. You already have systems that do all that pretty easily now. Well, what that's what I was kind of getting into. Now, then where does the AI come in?

Okay, what what what work should I spread around? What what where is the potential cost savings would it be? I mean, I guess that could be quicker, right? That's it's it's Quicker at identifying. Exactly. It is quicker at identifying. Only back draw is like, you know, like the the bigger picture is is the use of energy to to get that answer, right?

Whereas before you might have a team group meetings every morning and look at your top 10 list and say, oh, I got these are my top 10, let's get get after one and two here real first, when in reality maybe that AI recognized number seven or eight could have been the real bottleneck or the cause of the delay, right?

give me my top 10 what things I could change and then we pick it out. I think it's if it's as it's used as a productivity tool I think it is great. Um, where you needed I don't know. I I seen people exiting or they've been exited from their jobs like in thousands. And uh and those were the jobs that in my opinion, they were like not had a value exac- uh direct value to a customer anyway.

Mhm. Those were not like, you know, they they weren't creating value for the business. They were they were basically creating doing work that customer didn't pay for, right? So, I think those are the jobs that may may get axed and but yeah, I mean, AI is real, but it's it's definitely if you look at per application.

Yeah. No, definitely definitely. You know, guys, uh let us know what you guys think. Real hype. Give a comment. Like, subscribe if you like the topic.
