today I will be doing an in-depth stock analysis on AMD stock a lot of time and research went into this video so I would appreciate if you left a like and subscribe AMD also known as Advanced Micro Devices operates a worldwide semiconductor company AMD creates processors and graphics cards some of their products include top-of-the-line AMD Verizon thread Ripper their epic server processors and their raid on graphics cards the CEO of AMD is Lisa sue Lisa sue is one of my favorite CEOs in the tech industry she has a very strong engineering background having graduated from MIT with a master's degree in electrical engineering sue was appointed CEO of AMD back in October of 2014 shortly after the company has made a remarkable turnaround AMD is up over four hundred and twenty nine percent in the past five years 52% from the past year and fifty-eight percent in the past three months AMD has a market cap of eighteen point six billion dollars the current share price of AMD is nineteen thirteen AMD's a trailing p/e ratio of 66 and a forward p/e ratio of thirty point three the average tech sector p/e is thirty three point three AMD seems like it will be a fair value compared to the rest of the technology sector in the upcoming months the current earnings per share is point two nine the average volume on this stock is over 66 million the stock has a beta of three point six which means it is very volatile from day to day this is actually a good thing in my opinion because you can often pick up shares at a discount the company has a great return of equity of forty eight point six percent the current ratio is one point seven this means AMD is capable of paying back short-term obligations there's been a great turnaround in cash flow from 2015 to 2017 the past three quarters have also been steadily increasing which is excellent the current balance sheet from the latest quarter has an assets to liabilities ratio of one point two seven this makes the stock a bit risky however the debt is being maintained at a good level we are also seeing a steady increase on the income statement from quarter to quarter two of the larger companies that are competing with AMD are Intel and it video Intel has been having a really tough time they're down over 10% in the past three months AMD is nearly up 58 percent in the past three months Intel CEO recently resigned in June until also announced they're pushing back the ten nanometer processor all the way back to 2019 these are two of the main reasons why until stock has been down so much lately this gives AMD a great opportunity to get a head of Intel AMD is recently announced that they are working on a seven animator chip and that should come out later this year AMD is finally starting to get some recognition Goldman Sachs has upgraded AMD from SEL to neutral they also downgraded Intel due to their struggle with the ten nanometer chips AMD is competing against Nvidia as well in the GPU market both companies will reveal new products at SIGGRAPH this week AMD just introduced their radon Pro WX 8200 graphics card it delivers the best workstation graphics performance under $1,000 it will be interesting to see what Nvidia is going to release at SIGGRAPH 2018 AMD is announce that as new thread ripper too has broken the world record for the highest Cinebench score with a 5.1 gigahertz overclock personally right now I have a twenty nine point three four percent gain on AMD this equates to a total return of two thousand one hundred and eighty seven dollars my average costs on the stock was fourteen seventy nine this is gonna be a long-term hold for me I'm gonna add more shares when the stock takes dips and share price they have so much opportunity to take away market share from larger companies like video and Intel lisa sue and the AMD team is very focused and I believe that will execute on their long-term vision overall I think the stock is very volatile however it has high potential to grow great leadership and innovative products let me know what you guys think of the comments about AMD you leave a like if you enjoyed the video thank you so much for watching and see you in the next video
